.... to past managers

1. Glenn Roeder - responsible for signing Hoolahan
2. Bryan Gunn - repsosible for signing Holt (let's not forget the fans who opted not to take the £70 rebate for being relegated (plus the doubling of that money by Michael Foulger and so provided the funds to be able to sign him!!!)
3. Paul Lambert - responsible for signing Ruddy, Pilkington, Howson, Johnson, R Martin, R Bennett etc

From the evidence so far this season, Chris Hughton also has an eye for a player who can improve the side and whether or not he feels there is someone available in Jan to bolster the side - we'll have to wait and see. We have Kane and Butterfield coming back, so perhaps another quality defender - Curtis Davies from Birmingham anyone???.
 
I remember Wes getting stick on 606 when we first bought him. One footed, no pace etc were all quoted but he has gone on to prove that if you play alongside rubbish, a little of the smell will taint you as well.
 
May I add the late great John Bond who in my view was responsible for the positive image that is now readily associated with the club but that replaced the somewhat dour image created by Ron Saunders - who to be fair, got the best out of an indifferent squad and brought top flight football to CR for the first time. At this time of peace to all men (except the MOTD dicks) these greats should be remembered particularly fondly too.
 
Roeder and Gunn deserve no credit at all to what they done managing Norwich. They bought more **** than good players.

Lambert does, although I don't regard him as much as I did due to such a **** exit.

Ewan Chester deserves a massive mention for players who have come in.

I think Chris Hughton is really relishing his chance of managing a top flight team without the pressure he had from the board at Newcastle. I actually rate the guy so highly, probably have one criticism which is leaving it too late for subs sometimes, but the rest, I think he is a future England manager. (Bold statement I know)

Certainky agree with this - I do wish CH would sometimes put subs on sooner!! <cheers>

A bit unfair on YellowLittle but little (pardon the pun), did we know how things would turn out <yikes>
 
......................as for Neyul, well he stepped in and was given a thankless task at the end of last season so I'm not laying the blame for relegation at his feet and if nothing else he got us Cameron Jerome for a steal <ok>

He is developing a wonderful understanding with Hooper and has scored some excellent goals for us - he's missed a few as well. <ok>

Very harsh to pick out a thread which was at the absolute pinnacle of Hughton's career at City!! <laugh> I'd say many of us would have been even more glowing given that we were 10 matches unbeaten.


I've made my views clear on what Hughton has done for this club elsewhere, so I won't bore you... Yes, he took the first XI backwards, but he did a great job transforming it from the inside IMO

And £100m PL money wasn't bad
 
Did any of Hughtons signings work, I don't think a single one could be considered a real success.

They have all had their periods of bad form.

As for Adams signings, all flops apart from O'Neill and I doubt any of them will be here the end of next season. He has wasted so much money.
 
Hooper, Tettey, Turner and Redmond were all good signings by Hughton. Could also include Bassong's first season with us too.
 
I don't think we can say the signings really worked however which was my point.

We are now a Division lower and they still are not setting the Division alight.
