The lads are on their way home in AXY002 from Manchester Boeing 737 9H-AHA, currently over Stoke, (some things never change), e.t.a Southampton Airport 21:22.

Well done Saints!! It has been a lovely day here, walking with my friend and her dogs, going back to have a lovely meal and then coming back to my new abode and finding out that the Saints beat mighty Manchester United. I bet even a few Pompey fans will rub it in the nose for their United supporting work colleagues!! |Come on Saints just get 3rd in the League!!!

Just watched the 1st half. Whilst I agree it wasn't blood and thunder, it was anything but boring. I just slipped into purist mode and thoroughly enjoyed the shapes we were taking up and the calm assurance of the team to play patient football. It's brilliant to watch because it is professional. ManU were not poor out of their own ability. They were being made to look poor. They've had several chances, but their attacks have broken like waves on a seashore. Saints have counterattacked, and looked more dangerous when they've done so.

Boring..? No, this is brilliant stuff of a different kind. Onto the 2nd half.

I think aiming to catch ManC and Chelsea ought to be the next goal.

Loved it when Gary Neville said during commentary.....tactically this is like a CL match not PL

Had visions of us doing a similar job on Barca at the Nou Camp in years time.

This is damning us with faint praise, and could be seen as lacking ambition, but we are three points off the highest ever points total that a team has achieved and still been relegated. To put it another way, one more win and WE ARE STAYING UP!

(Champions League here we come)

I know it is hindsight but if we had got to the Capitol One semi it would have been a massive distraction to our goal of finishing in the CL places. I know going to Wembley is nice but the real objective has to be Top 3 or 4 now and can be done as others like Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool will have European distractions soon and let's hope it really does distract them. Do you think West Ham are still in the mix? Anyhow the die is cast for an outsider to get a Top 4 place! ie Us, West Ham or Tottenham.

Just finished watching the whole match. Magnificent performance in both halves. Martin Tyler and Gary Neville said we were fantastic, with no mention of ManU being poor. Well done those two for an honest appraisal. ManU weren't poor. They just weren't as good as Saints. I quietly enjoyed the fact that Neville thought that although the first half wasn't as good as the second, he'd thoroughly enjoyed Saints organised 1st half performance. Same here. Now onto MOTD2 to see what they've got to say.
