My eyes at every game I watch. The replays even back it up - linesmen do not get 99 out of 100 decisions correct. No way.

"The figures claim accuracy on major decisions was up to 95% from 94.1%, accuracy on decisions in the penalty box stood at 98%, and offsides were now 99% accurate, compared to 92% when Riley took over."

A few quick comments from one of the Arsenal forums:

This was like watching a top German or Spanish side go to Old Trafford in the CL and calmly take the points. No fuss.

    Worried about 4th now ffs.

They got bantered at home. Controlled and dispatched with ruthless efficiency.

Its always Schneiderlin cleaning up, he's a brick wall. He's been oustanding mate, he's ALWAYS there.

Normally i never praise other teams brother but southampton are a great Team

That video probably provided the best and most accurate description of a player I've ever heard, on Fellaini: "Is he going to do what Aguero or Sanchez do? No, but he's going to get in the fooking box and make a c*** of himself." Neville or Carragher couldn't have said it better, the Geordie accent pulls it off though.

Teams do not have to play a style that suits the opposition...defence is part of the game. And I will say that if a lower side blocks us out of a game...it's a tactic, whether you play it or the opposition do. I think we went there to win, but games sometimes unfold differently to how you imagine. What we showed was that we are well schooled to play the game rather than stick to some ideal of how we should play. We contained United and they didn't have the ability to play the game in front of them. Fellaini was put on to play more direct football...shame the rest of the team didn't know how to play that way.

Durham is a click bait, he writes contradicting nonsense just to attract more clicks. He's really not worth mentioning.

The writer is Adrian Durham who is a "shock jock" on talkSport's Drive Time Show 4-7pm.
For the record he is a Peterborough fan...shame

The other point he has totally ignored is that as well as having the best defence in the league we have also scored the most apart from Chelsea, City, and Arsenal.

Hahahahahahaha, that Durham article is hilarious - genuinely hilarious. He has always been a tosser, but that is a laughable article.

"But as a neutral football observer it was awful to see two top-four teams go head to head, yet only one of them trying to play football reflecting their position in the league."

Mourinho and Chelsea have done it for years with no criticism, and that performance was hardly comparable.

Saints play open attacking football at home vs City, lose 3-0, and people claim we are out of our depth and naive to take on City with passing football. We dominate United at home, concede 2 chances, and lose 2-1, with pundits saying it shows the difference in quality between the two teams.
We go to Old Trafford, don't defend with our backs to the walls at all, but keep (in the words of Ronald) "a good organisation" and contain their so-called "star players", don't concede a shot on target, and are criticised for taking our own.

    What do people want.

And the penalties city and Chelsea should have had vs us? Even if the standard of refereeing is slipping at this period in time decisions still even out over the season.

We defended with a proper back 4. Teams that park the bus defend really deep with there wingers creating what is effectively a back 6. We didn't just defend. Both teams had the same amount of shots. We were away from home and the referee favoured them. We obviously could have had a few penalties for clear shirt pulling on set pieces if Dowd wasn't so gutless.

Basically a lot of the pundits, writers, journalists..whatever.. are extremely bitter that we've done so well this season. They've been left with egg on their face over their ludicrous predictions that we would get relegated..

The article is correct. Koeman is, in the words of a previous visionary chairman, a department head. But importantly, he is the club's focal point off the pitch. He is the first reason why players turn up for training and have an ambition. You can see that because when any player is interviewed, they all say the same thing as him.

If Saints were a navyboat, Reed would be the Admiral, making policy, and Koeman would be the Captain of the ship, who everyone looks to, to see that it is carried out.
