you are right.. thats what mourinho does.. goes hard at smaller teams racks up points then sets out not to lose against the top 4 by playing for one goal.
You are also right that the number of successful teams built on great attacks and not much defense can probably be counted on one finger... elt alone one hand... and utd a few seasons ago lucked into a scenario where rvp scored and rescued a lot of points but there was actually a complete disintegration of any challenge. city fell apart, cheslea where nowhere... so.... barca are prob the only real side to do it and they did it by denying possession utterly to sides rather than simply attacking all the time.
Even for Barca, they defended extremely well as a unit - the way they would hunt the ball down and press. And they have the best DM in the world in Busquets who would read danger well ahead of time.
Rodgers needs to accept help on the defensive side of the game - if he doesn't, then I fail to see him being a success at Liverpool which is a shame. Tremendous attacking coach, but poor in almost every other aspect.
