I remember Marra... See below my post on a previous thread..

It's a difficult one but until the law stipulates what jobs / earnings you are entitled to upon release from prison (which will never happen) people are entitled to go back to work.

Gary Barlow / Jimmy Carr still earn millions after breaking the law... Should that be allowed?
Mike Tyson boxed again (rather badly) upon release.
Recently a school teacher who was convicted of having child porn on his computer won his battle in court to be allowed to go back to work in a mainstream school (obscene but true!)

The problem lies (as in many walks of life) with inconsistency !?!?

What crimes / jobs / earnings should be allowed..... Let the tabloids decide (they never break the law do they??)

Isn't the whole point Gary Barlow and Jimmy Carr didn't break a law? There was a an idiotic loophole that they took advantage of. Pretty sure they did nothing illegal whatsoever.

I remember that, mowed into a families car when pissed, killed 3 or 4 and then legged it and hid for 72 hours to let the alcohol wear off and report his hic hic car stolen. Yeah he played again and I think still does as did or maybe even does Marlo King who admitted his stuff. My jury is out on Evans as I always had doubts about the conviction or may I say the victim. Someone screams innocence after 3 years with conviction, then yeah I'll listen as to why..

I believe Tax Fraud is illegal marra !?
And as for you saying "they took advantage" & "pretty sure they did nothing illegal whatsoever".... You should have been on Ched's Legal Team :p:p

I was under the impression that they hadn't broke a law mate. Why they were never charged for it.

Not sure that would have worked as a defence for Ched although maybe there's a play on words to be had their with loopHOLE.

They took a loophole mate, the same loophole that the Saatchi's took years ago. It's a loophole that no one wanted to close because it benefitted big names with money. Of course it's shady and maybe illegal but as long as it's not to exposed then sshhhh, it's ok..

Oh come on marra... Are you saying 'if you're not charged you haven't committed a crime' ???
I'm loving that attitude (I wished you'd have told my dad that in the mid 80s) :1980_boogie_down:

And for info I've got 2 teenage daughters so it's not that I'm oblivious to what happens with boys and girls.!!
It's the inconsistency that gets me 'going' :emoticon-0130-devil

No but I think you're often not charged because you haven't committed a crime. I know very little about tax law so really wouldn't like to make a statement to be taken as fact but the way I read it at the time was that what they had done was crooked/unethical but not illegal.

If there's holes in your system why would people not take them. If I start earning millions of pounds and my accountant says to me would you like to pay more or less tax without breaking any laws... I'm only going to answer one way.

They aren't either, so maybe they should have kicked each other out. Can never fathom how this pair made it but words in my ear about 1990 said it all. They acquired the Glasgow city of culture account in 1990 and my lips are sealed. Time for bed, night all..<ok>

Criminal yes, without ever actually breaking the law though mate.

Big distinction and one I personally don't really blame these people for taking. It's up to the Government to stop them and punish them and I sincerely hope they begin to do so because I'm fecking jealous.

Sorry rackem but she was too pissed to remember it so I can't imagine her reliving the experience!

What would be interesting is if his appeal is upheld and his conviction overturned. Can you imagine the lawsuits?
