Please refer back to the other three times I have tried to explain this to you on this thread.

When I said he bought the club from Bartlett for a few quid you called me a liar. You repeated that in the other three threads as well. As you understand accounts you know the difference between buying an insolvent club and then lending it the money to pay off its debts and try and climb into the Premier League.

Its up to you whether you answer my question. If I was in your position I would either justify calling me a liar or apologise.

Speechless!

How have they lied? They went for a meeting about the stadium. If they asked for it for nowt its still an offer. No lies there.

They made no offer of any sort according to HCC and Allam has never refuted that in any way, once the HCC challenged them to prove otherwise.

As Allams such a **** businessman he walked away. Luckily that deal is still on the table and businessmen the world over have been hammering at the council door trying to get in on it for the past 3 years. Oh wait......

Have you forgotten the contractual obligations that surround the stadium? Oh wait .......... <laugh>

I'm not going to argue, we have had the debate before, I am sure that I was told different. The one fact is that the debts were paid off.

Whilst it was originally reported that Allam intended to only purchase a majority shareholding in the club, and would continue to work with Russell Bartlett, a protracted period of due diligence indicated that the investment required would be substantially higher than originally planned; this resulted in a move to obtain complete shareholding control of the club. The deal was formally completed at 10.45 pm on 16 December 2010, with the club changing hands for the nominal fee of £1, and with Allam and his son Ehab committing themselves to invest £30 million, as well as providing assurance for a further £10 million.

The figure is quoted in papers from The Mirror to The Independent.

Really. You want to believe that dont you.

HULL City owner Assem Allam says talks over his plans to buy the KC Stadium and create a multi-million pound sports village are "closed" after the council's refusal to sell.

Mr Allam wanted to buy the stadium and surrounding land – including the Walton Street car park currently used to stage Hull Fair – to develop a £114 million sports village.

But at a meeting yesterday, Councillor Terry Geraghty told the millionaire businessman the council was not willing to sell the stadium or the land around it.

Oh dear, Chazz. You used to be quite humorous, but now, when bested in an argument that you start, you get all moist, petty and personal; ****ing grow up. <doh>

Is this really the best you can do to prove "Really. You want to believe that dont you"? Something that was written in 2011? This was the start of the lies and petulant campaign, nothing more.

Now that was what I wrote and as far as I can seen it is reasonably current and, as yet, accurate. Can you show me otherwise or is it that you would rather believe any old ****e for the sake of one of your daft arguments? If you can genuinely show me something to change my opinion then it is open to change. Although my opinion on the name-change is not. <ok>

Edit: not sure the link is working so:

For the avoidance of doubt:

Hull City Council leader Steve Brady says the authority has never received an offer from Hull City to buy the freehold of the KC Stadium.
Cllr Brady was responding to comments made by Assem Allam in his press conference today, when he announced the club was for sale.
Asked if his relationship with the council was a problem, Dr Allam said: "No. We’re too old for that. We’re not a child playing, there’s a lot at risk.
"You wouldn’t have an extension on your house had it been rented.
"The money I was going to spend on the infrastructure of the club … I put at the time £33m for that (for a) a hotel and the stadium. I had actually spent more than that on financing losses.
"It’s like giving someone (money) to buy food. You give them £100 to buy fishing tackle to catch fish. He goes and spends £100 on takeaways. After a week the money’s gone. That’s exactly what happened, the £33m is gone and no income coming."
In a brief statement released this afternoon, Cllr Brady said that, while ownership of the KC Stadium had been touched upon in talks with the club, it had "never been discussed in any great detail".
Cllr Brady said: “I listened to Dr Allam’s statement with interest, particularly the suggestion that an offer was made to purchase the freehold tenancy of the KC Stadium.
"Without wanting to be drawn into public debate with Dr Allam, the city council has never received such an offer from Dr Allam or his associates.
"Whilst it was touched upon in discussion, it has never been discussed in any great detail, and certainly not with the result of a formal offer being made by Dr Allam.”

Speaking at a packed press conference today, Dr Allam said would either sell the club or succeed in winning an appeal on the name-change issue through arbitration – "whichever came first".

You believe what you want. "bested" jesus.
As with most of your "arguements" on here you just drone on and on and everyone just quietly slip away like the old grandad at the family party.

I edited it to make sure you understand. I am only defending what I wrote that you decided to be petulant about - read what I wrote. Can you not take what you have been giving me for a while? Are you really that bloody childish.

If you can't finish your arguments, don't bloody start them: there's a good boy. <doh>

Assem Allam and the council had a meeting to discuss the KC.
HCC said it wasn't for sale.

Why would any formal offer be made?

"In a brief statement released this afternoon, Cllr Brady said that, while ownership of the KC Stadium had been touched upon in talks with the club, it had "never been discussed in any great detail".

Allam turns up, says I will spend money in the area if you give me the KC for free and Brady says you are wasting your time the KC is not for sale, Allam walks out. Easy......end of!

Its really not difficult to understand is it TOM.

I'm sure the council have an alternative plan for the area anyway. Its only been 3 n half years... Whats that no. Its still a ****ing wasteland. Surely not.

"We are willing to do the whole scheme but we need a significant contribution from the council. If they can't generate their own funds to make a contribution, then give us the freehold of the stadium as their contribution. I accept there's a benefit to the club but it safeguards the football club and the stadium. We would pay them for the stadium, if they paid back a percentage of that to help fund the sports village. We're talking tens of millions so for him to say that we wanted it for nothing would just be untrue at all, totally false. In effect you could argue that we were prepared to pay £120m for the Sports Village. To say we wanted it for nothing is an insult."

It was an amicable, laid-back meeting which lasted three hours. At the end of it, we all shook hands, agreed to continue working together on a few ideas and Mr Allam even invited me to visit his factory. The next thing I know, he's calling me dishonest and criticising the council for not agreeing to what he wants. I have got no axe to grind with him and he can call me what he likes because I have always told the truth. I have no reason to lie about anything – I'm too long in the tooth for that sort of thing. He wanted us to give him the Stadium freehold That was something we were not prepared to do for a number of very good reasons. The main one was that he could not give any guarantees on the stadium's future. It was built and opened without any debt, but his proposal was to borrow against the freehold and that would create a debt. Anything with a debt carries a risk and, as a council, we are not prepared to have a situation like that. No one wants a repeat of what happened at Boothferry Park when the club got locked out of the ground because of financial problems. His proposals for developing a sports complex on Walton Street were vague & unclear. He said he would raise £120 million by borrowing on the stadium and getting £25 million from the Sports Council. I know for a fact the Sports Council hasn't got that sort of money to hand out. When we said there was a perfectly good ice arena already in the city and Albert Avenue baths just around the corner, he said the ice arena and the swimming pool they had been talking about could be dropped. He wasn't even prepared to show us his plans. He said they had cost him £3,000 and they belonged to him.You can't really work in partnership with someone if they are not prepared to share basic information like that. We've had nothing in writing from him at all, no offer to buy the stadium or anything like that. We had offered to work with Hull City's owners to relocate training pitches at Cottingham & Ideal Standard to land next to the KC Stadium, he seemed happy about that. We also offered to help locate a squash centre as part of that development, but then he got talking about shops and boutiques. Now, he's even talking about having a supermarket on the site. Either he wants a sports village or a shopping centre. He has his own style and his own way of going about things, but I think he wants his own way and nothing else.I certainly don't think he understands the workings of local government. I'm committed to sport in the city but Mr Allam and his son appeared unaware of other existing facilities in the city. We suggested Costello as a place to put the football training pitches and they said it was too small, which is just nonsense. I mentioned we have got 23 different big sporting events lined up in Hull next year and they did not seem to know anything about them. All they were interested in was getting the stadium freehold. They kept coming back to it time and time again."

"They effectively said we will give you £20 million, but that £20 million must go into our scheme. It might be their way of doing business, but local government doesn't work like that."

There all as bad as each other.
