In my opinion, the amount of terrible decisions by officials this season is unmatched throughout history.
I simply cannot believe how wrong they get things week after week. Liverpool got a penalty today after the ball hit a Leicester player in the face !
Why do you all think there's been so many wrong decisions this season ? Surely the game hasn't changed so much that the officials can't keep up ? We're talking decisions here that everyone apart from the officials can see are wrong - not 50/50 decisions where you win some, lose some.
In all seriousness - why is my this happening ? It's really spoiling football. After the blindness of the Rob Green decision - I really felt like turning the match off because what's the point ? We'll never know what the true outcome should have been in that game because Green should have been sent off 100%. We didn't even get a free kick from it. Remember the West Ham game where the ref played advantage and then after they didn't score - gave them a free kick and sent our keeper off ?
It no longer matters who deserves to win the game - it comes down to whoever gets the luck of the decisions from the officials.
We have to have TV officials that can alert the ref on these things.
And the Shelvet shot that was saved by the outstretched arm of the defender!
You have a point, in the past we've moaned about penalties being given or not for players going down easily or the ball to hand hand to ball questions - this season it's about how the heck did three officials miss a goalkeeper handling the ball two yards outside the penalty area? How does Rangel get a second yellow for standing still? Why is a very late and potentially leg braking talk (shortly after a similar foul) not get a red card? How does a player not get a card for ankle tapping a player about to cross from the goal line?
