Really impressed with him today. Finally he looks match fit and by that I mean match fit for the standard of the Premier League. Shame he couldn't get on the scoresheet today. He gave 110%, ran his heart out and continually looked a threat either on his own or laying the ball off to Jelavic. With Snodgrass, Dawson, Diame, Robertson and a New Signing we will hopefully look a real threat. Here's hoping this really is the time we start our season. Credit where credit is due today for Bruce and the team.
Well said. Started justifying his 10 mill. price tag today. Great movement off the ball too. Expect quite a few goals from his partnership with Jelly.
People are only anti Bruce if there is a reason. Of which there is factual evidence to support. If we win then why would anyone be anti Bruce? It isn't fickle but it is reality. I personally don't and never have wanted Bruce to leave but felt he was getting dangerously close and there was/is a few things that he needed calling out on. He is not exempt from criticism.
Demand his head when we lose, support him when we win. It's all very straight-forward really isn't it?
He was brilliant today, he looks a lot more physical now really put himself about today and he proved to be a nightmare for Everton. Him and Jela are a real handful.
So if we lose in the cup to Arsenal, people should return to calling for his head? **** that. All the criticisms he has had his way have been uncalled for, and calling for his head is just plain ****ing stupid PLW-ness.
I think you're incredibly naive if you can't see how bad our league form has been. The FA Cup was great but it was his saving grace from the league. It is really pathetic that you use the FA Cup Final loss as an example, its the argument of a 13 year old. This was a solid year of poor results. I could understand your viewpoint if people where calling for his head or criticising him after a few games. I wasn't and many where not calling for his head when we lost one game. I personally felt that Bruce was not exempt from criticism of whereas you seem to think he deserves no criticism whatsoever. You and some others on here have perpetually and aggressively shot down anyone who dare question anything Bruce does. I've never had a problem with Bruce and think he is a great manager but if results are forthcoming then he like any manager in football or any profession should eventually be questioned and eventually be let go. Blindly supporting someone doesn't make you a better supporter than someone who doesn't. But there is an element of self righteousness on here if you are a blind supporter.
As a bit of devil's advocate: Pros: -His movement was excellent. Pulled the defence around all over the place. -His flick over the top left Jelavic with a (relatively) easy finish. -He played a nice pass into Meyler which Jelavic was unlucky not to put away from the pull back. Cons: -His feet still somewhat resemble pinball machines. Hopefully more match fitness will lead to more sticking and better hold up play. -He should have shot across the goal or crossed along the 6-yard line when he shot at the near post (at least he forced a save). -He was left with just the last defender 35 yards from goal and didn't take him on for pace. -He missed a chance for the second game running from around 6-yards. Did the opposition being lacklustre make us look better than we are? I'm more inclined to think that playing 2 up top gave them more to think about, allowing us to play higher up the pitch (although they played a very high line, allowing us to run the channels).
People WERE criticising him after a few games though. Just because you can't remember it doesn't mean it wasn't happening. He has been criticised since mid-October. Ps. I never mentioned the FA Cup final. Next time, read my post correctly before replying...
Hernandez is a good player when he plays like that, I think the crux of it he has had a pre season at another club and basically is not fit enough. The minimum you expect from a striker of his ilk is to chase every lost cause and put the defenders under pressure.
The team I support have won 2 of the last 3. Stats can be used to back up either way and hardly evidence of an argument as I've just proven.
Yes sorry about that. I thought you where referring to the FA Cup and not the cup game this weekend. I aren't speaking for everyone on this forum I am speaking for myself and some people I see you spouting **** to on a regular basis. I also think you may need to look up the word arrogance. People should not flip flop on a weekly basis based on results. But with only 6/7 league wins in the entirety of 2014 and 3rd bottom of form/results in the English football league anyone who did want shot of him had or began to have credible argument, justification and facts to back it up. I think you personally got so obsessed with winning the 'argument'. You lost all sense of the situation and became so determined not to lose face.
The argument stood before those games. It stood for the whole calendar year of league football. What you just did was manipulate the facts, what I did was state them as they are. I use a full year of results and you use three fixtures.
