Chelsea looked great in the first half tbf except for the stupid dive by Ivan. Some wonderful interplay, if they had a better forward, they could have been 4 or 5 up.
I only watched bits of the 2nd half but from what I saw Liverpool played well. Lovely finish by Llllallllannnnannnna for his second goal.
First half was dire so I switched to The Departed which I'm sure is still the better watch. Can't really comment but was disappointed with Swansea in the first half. I think the next 7/8 games aren't a bad run for them either so they have every chance of gaining some momentum.
Wow...how the fck was that not a red? I take it the "committee" will review that and he'll get a 3 match ban?
They should both be banned imo. Both players struck out, retaliation is no excuse. Though I am glad neither of them dropped like sacks of **** and started writhing on the ground, as some players have been known to do. That makes me madder than anything when I see a player get brushed in the face with an arm or if a player touches foreheads with another and they drop like a ****ing pansy, makes me want to jump onto the pitch and start curb stomping them.
For the same reason you're not crowing about the Sterling lash out either. Or if we want a bit of parity we could mention where both learned their trade as well
Mariner and the linesman saw it so Sterling gets away with it. Which begs the question, if they saw it, why didn't they do anything? Has there been a more blatant example of a ref ignoring a sending off in recent memory???
I neither crowed for Shelvey being sent off or Sterling, and by the way, letter of the law says that if Sterling should have been banned so should the Swans player that gave him the patronising tap on the head, the FA obviously didn't want to ban 2 Swans players which they would have had to if they banned Sterling, the lino also seen the tap to the head(which was nothing) as well as Sterling's tap to the face(which was nothing) So, following the full letter of the law, 3 players should have seen FA action. But you never copped that did you
Well you did about Shelvey in your previous post. I've never said Shelvey shouldn't have been punished either. The Swans player nonsense is typical of some Liverpool fans who always like to play the victim and divert attention from their own guilty parties. That theory of yours is ridiculous mate. The patronising tap on the head you mention was as feeble as Simeone's on Beckham in 98. It was THAT tap on the head that Beckham reacted to not the original bundling (with less fervour than Sterling I might add). Go watch the incident if you don't believe me. Are you honestly suggesting now that Simeone should have been sent off? It's pure clutching at straws to start looking at the Swans player.
FFS can't you read, I referred to your lack of crowing about Shelvey. I didn't myself, I knew he was going to get a ban because it was clearly intentional. The tap Sterling got as well as Sterling's response were both the same as Becks and his stupid flick. I am not saying Sterling should not have been punished, I am saying that if you are going to ban Sterling then Fern also gets a ban, they both raised their hands, something that always risks a red even if you make no contact. Some try make a distinction between the tap and slap, but as far as the rules go, there is none, they were the same offence.
Can't you read, if I'm quoting your post then the PREVIOUS one would be the one before that. You were quick to point out Shelvey's initially weren't you... You've missed my point completely. The ONLY comparison I'm making with the Becks incident is that Simeone ALSO gave him a cheeky tap on the head just like Fern, which is what caused Becks to react. To suggest that Fern would have also needed to be sent off is as ridiculous as suggesting Simeone should have been. It's pure misdirection on the part of some scousers as always to detract from their own players. Sterling off no excuses.
Arsenal losing 1-0 Very entertaining game, Arsenal passing it to death but unable to penetrate enough. The defending for the goal was awful though.
