OK , i didn't know who Katie Hopkins was until this morning when i started reading the upset her comments had been causing on Twitter - but im a little concerned as to how the country is reacting to drivel on a twitter feed .

Today Police say
"Inquiries are ongoing into the nature of these tweets and to establish any potential criminality.

"Police Scotland will thoroughly investigate any reports of offensive or criminal behaviour online and anyone found to be responsible will be robustly dealt with."

For what ? she named a place in Scotland Jocksville in one tweet and in another calling the Scots Sweaty Socks .

Playground humour at best i know , but has a crime really been committed ?

"Sending us Ebola bombs in the form of sweaty Glaswegians just isn't cricket."

"Glaswegian ebola patient moved to London's Royal Free Hospital. Not so independent when it matters most are we jocksville?"

Hardly offensive surely ? regardless of the outcome , that the police are investigating this is a mockery and a joke on the taxpayer .

She's a crime against humanity. A truly odious, nasty bitch.

Don't worry, its Police Scotland, its their taxes not ours.

Would be funny if she was found guilty of something other than being a horrible woman.

She always says ridiculous things for attention and ITV keep churning her out on their This Morning programme to spout the drivel. She's made comments on children's names, class, weight, etc.... just for attention. I doubt she actually believes any of the things she's saying, she just knows she gets booked and paid for saying them. They'll probably roll her out for Big Brother in January.

I'm fortunate in that I don't watch the sort of TV she is on or read the papers/magazines that make a fuss over her.

I was vaguely aware of her but have no interest. I've not been bombarded by her on social media.

It's easy to pay no attention to this sort of bollocks if you don't want to.

It made me laugh when she said said hates children named after places. She has child called India.

She's a perfect example that money can't buy class.

Its not just ITV, she appears in most of the red tops and seems quite popular in the Daily Mail.

Ugly on the outside and the inside.

I find this kind of interference of the long arm of the law into inane social media comments absolutely ludicrous and a massive waste of resource, as well as being intrusive beyond what is healthy

However in this case I'll make an exception and I hope they organise a public flogging of that hideous creature

I remembered her as a rather sweet young Welsh thing who sang about raising a glass or two in olde taverns, so I was a bit taken aback at the vile nonsense she now seems to be spouting.

The wife filled me in.

Not for the first time.

I'd be lost in the modern cultural desert without her.

Oh, for more innocent times when politeness cost nothing. Those were the days, my friend. We thought they'd never end.
