No. I can just see Fabregas for what he really is. Much like the club who got rid of him on the cheap.

    Viera
    Busquets
    Matic

What do all 3 have in common?

Chelsea fans knew this and were very vocal about it until a few months ago too.

    All have helped carry Fabregas.

Hes a great player but only alongside an even better player. Story of his career. This seasons stats show hes one of the easiest players in the league to go past. So he puts pressure on the DM and defence.

I just like pointing it out to anyone who thinks hes this world class super midfielder. He just isnt.

I see your point but with it being a team game I don't see it as a flaw the combination of players in certain areas (Center backs, Midfielders) can be just as important and the individual ability. Chelsea don't really struggle at the back so imagine he has a certain freedom to remain in advanced positions.

A good example of what I mean is the Rooney goal against us, Coutinho was seen as at fault but I disagree as all he was doing was expecting us to win the ball and so was moving into space, Fabregas also does this a lot and if your team doesn't win the ball it can appear that the AM is being lazy.

It all about Matic for Chelsea. By far their most important player.

Take him out and the who set up collapses. Terry and Cahill get shown for what they really are, over the hill, average centre backs (the fullbacks are brilliant though) and with the alternative being.....JOHN OBI MIKEL...... well, you see where I am going.

This brings me to the point I made on your board. A side like Chelsea is set up so that it can only perform if its first choice 11 is available. They have been very lucky to this point that for almost every game, this has been the case. They alternatives are erm...... not good.

How good would Chelsea be with Matic, Costa, Hazard, Ivanovic and Chelsea Dave out? The only one of those players with decent back up is Dave ( Luis ).

Its not a team game, its a squad game. In time this will be telling. The 2 best squads are City and United. Who have both shown, despite numerous injuries, that we can cope and maintain standards. Chelsea are in a bit of a situation as they need to sell in order to buy now. This will make it difficult to build up a good squad of capable back ups for when the inevitable injury crisis occurs.

Again some good points but plenty of what you say is up for debate. Terry and Cahill as individuals are not great but they work together well. Chelsea have a lot of good players that can come in and do a job if there are injuries but I agree on the Matic part as I feel he is essential and the back up not that good, but who ever has a good backup DM?

They have decent options up front and in midfield, Oscar, Willian, Shuurle, Remy for example and would cope with a normal injury list. At the back some may say they don't have cover but the youngsters Zouma and Ake look good and Ivanovic can also play center back.

I think you maybe underestimating their squad.

I'm glad you brought up Remy. It means I can now state that if Costa was injured (or banned for diving as is likely to happen) then chances ar Remy was already injured.... as is often the case.

Schurle is rubbish. At least for Chelsea. Can see that Jose doesnt rate him at all. Oscar and Willian are starters already so take away Matic and they suddenly need to defend...... <laugh>.

Hazard, willian, Oscar and Fabregas are not known for their defensive work at all. Oscar is the only one who might stand up to the task...... poorly.

I'm not underestimating their squad at all. I just dont rate it above others. Their first 11 is brilliant. as a unit it just works. Take away various parts and it falls to pieces. This has already been shown this season.

Willian is known for his defensive workrate and overall workrate, you also have Ramirez to add in there, Shuurle will do a job as will Remy if fit. I don't agree with your assessment of the squad at all.

Forgot about Ramirez. Hes decent enough though not brilliant.

Willian does work hard but to little effect. Take out Matic, which is the whole point here and running around a lot simply wont cut it. You ahve to imagine that without Matic, their CB are going to be exposed big time. They have nobody who can stop that.

Ask yourself, why does Jose not play any of these apparently great back ups, even in cup games? Hes well aware of their limitations and simply doesnt trust them.

Will be contest for who's having the biggest meltdown between us, Arsenal and spurs after they've lost to Chelsea it seems.

Considering we managed to actually get a point think we win <diva>

  16. Most Spurs fans are expecting us to lose to Chavs, so I doubt there'll be any meltdown. More like "resignation to the inevitable."

    Meltdown on the routemaster board*

*my bad, you need fans to have a meltdown <laugh>

  19. Sorry, but that isn't true. Not in the slightest.

Sure, I'm currently taking a self-imposed exile from my own board - mainly because too many of my fellow fans have crawled too far up their own arses - but I'm not going to let slurs against them go unchecked.

If you think that the Spurs board goes into meltdown when we lose to the likes of Chavs (or £ity or Arsenal), then either you don't visit our board often enough to be able to make a fair and accurate assessment, or you are merely on the wum.

Not on the wum. If the spurs fans are like those I know personally then very much so. I can think back to plenty of games against Chelsea, United and ofcourse Arsenal where losses have resulted in meltdowns with my fellow spuds as well as on the radio phone ins. It depends I suppose. Not even under current circumstances with the score, should the inevitable happen???
