I suppose I'll have to be the first to mention that the new slightly larger avatars show Australia's finest off quite nicely FLT?
I don't look too big in it do I?

Have to say that I never was a Kylie fan. Truth is, I loathed Neighbours with a passion [and any other Soap Opera along with it], and anything that sprang from it, and those. But she really is a talent and singing star. There was a song in the 1990s which turned me round, and it still my favourite of hers because it is a perfect pop song and a perfect pop video. I'll pop it on Koeman's Korner [your favourite thread], FLT, if I can remember what it's called. :emoticon-0110-tongu

The Star says Martin Odegaard will snub Europe's top clubs and sign for us.

This would be incredible. Add the strong links earlier in the month to this chap

and I think it's fair to say that we are at least looking to compete with the big boys in terms of recruiting top young players - and why not?

Would suggest talk of Ings is a little premature - we could get him for a good price in the summer but not convinced paying over the odds for him now is the right thing to do. Can see a striker coming in on loan in a similar deal to Elia. Given the amount of football that player is likely to see, our facilities and our league position - I'd suggest there will be players and clubs jumping at the chance.

Also the Star....stating the obvious. They don't say Koeman WANTS to sign Toby early (which he does without doubt), but they say Koeman WILL want to sign Toby early. Weasel word which tells you that they know nothing. Be great if we do get him in January...the advantage to Atletico is that they get the money now. Toby has always said it is down to the clubs, but it is also down to him....does he want to stay or does he want to keep his options open?

Odegaard has been looking around a few clubs (allegedly), but has he even been near us. I think we are a hot story and are getting pulled into gossip as they know getting into the team is important to him and we have previous for that. But so does Arsenal (usually with our youngsters :().

I sound negative this morning...need to get into the mood...so hey <diva>

Unless we were desperate in one position, I can't see us agreeing to babysit a player for Chelsea.

Agree, although strikers with his kind of goalscoring record unlikely to be readily available in January. Chelsea represent one of the only top clubs in UK that are not threatened by our start.

Obviously, we can and probably will look further afield than just the UK but Lukaku showed last season that loans from premier league can be a very good way forward for all concerned (although accept the risk was less). We should be focusing only on getting the best out of the squad until May, not thinking furhter ahead at this point. We are a very attractive loan proposition up front and I would argue that it is a position that we desperately need quality depth in.

I still can't see Odegaard rumours being true.

Is this the 16yr old Norwegian laddie with a full cap..? By all accounts he now wants to go to Saints after digesting all the advice. I think it's a case of... if he goes to St Mary's, that's nice, and if he doesn't then so-so. It would be the sensible thing, but then how many footballers are actually sensible when the bright lights are put in front of them..?

That sums it up quite nicely!

Except that if he came to Saints he'd have a good chance of making it if the talent is really there.
