Cats linked with Bellamy
Sunderland, 09:03, July 5, 2011
Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has entered the race to sign Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy but faces a battle to land him.
The Black Cats boss is on the look out for new front men at the club, with as many as four new strikers thought to be on Bruce's wanted list, and Bellamy could be available on a season-long loan deal.
He spent last season at Cardiff in a similar deal and had expressed his desire to finish his career with his home town club but, after they failed to gain promotion to the Premier League last season, that hope is now over.
City boss Roberto Mancini has made it clear that the striker is not part of his plans so a move away looks a certainty but Bruce faces a battle with Stoke and Celtic to try and land the controversial front man.
On a loan would be very good news, and gives the other two time to get up to speed and Fraizer to get fit.
