6/10
signings and business in general has been good but not sure he knows what to do when it's not going to plan

when we had that loosing streak i was well pissed with him and his tactics, as the club has stuck by him so must i but still think hes not the man to take us forward a chief scout yes but manager ....5 ANOTHER LOOSING STREAK AND .....1

The big problem is though, the top clubs dont have a problem with it well Man City do atm but CL football next season will put pay to that.

basically you cant spend more than your turnover, Man U made 280 million in turnover last year, and their wages were only 49% of that, we made 70 million or something, and our wages were 89% of it

So its the rest of the clubs that are going to struggle to get into Europe to even get a chance of increasing our turnover, to buy better players, on better wages, the likes of Man U will be fine for years to come and have no worries at all.

as to the ops question, 1st half of the season 9.5 result against the mags knocks it down from 10, 2nd half 7 (cant see him being to blame for all the injuries we had) so i would give him an 8.5

This is another side, yeah.

The bollocks about 'level playing field' just don't wash.

The biggest clubs will remain, indeed the standard of the teams just outside may well drop off, if a club like us brought in a real marquee player, on say 80k a week, to balance the books we ned 2 or 3 players happy to take 15-20k, who generally wouldn't be good enough.

It's a load of cod ****e, basically, I could see City's owners taking UEFA to court and saying 'what gives you the right to stop me investing my own money into a company i own?'

City are as far from 'living beyond your means' as the tape goes!

I'm gonna give him a 6, i feel we should have done a wee bit better last season given the start we had.

He's a 7 the instant he signs a decent left footed player, the most glaring thing we have lacked during his tenure, and still not sorted.

I think he's getting the balance right, and i think he'll score higher next summer.

We shall see, but overall, i'm comfortable with him, although i wasn't at various points last season (football eh....).

BB - Isn't Larsson left footed?? and a decent player IMO??

7 atm but if Gyan leaves 2 :)

Yet again: if Gyan was/is determined to go, why would you blame Bruce for this?

As for the original question, we have made steady, but not spectacular progress, so I would say that 7 is about right.

it was meant with humour and irony hence the smiley :) but I obviously failed miserably with my comment lol
TBH I think Bruce is doing very good job even if Gyan leaves he would have my support

5/10 for me and here are my reasons why......

A terrible second half to last season, partly due to the injury crisis, but exacerbated by the squad being too small, also some bizzare tactics and team selections. Too much reliance on the loan system and the fact that he is having to recruit so many new players to the squad is not good management in my eyes. I remember Steve Bruce being interviewed on TV last season, stating that for the start of the next season, he would be looking to only bring in one or two quality signings.

So why do we find the club having to recruit a minimum of 8 players? Is any other club in the Premier League on a recruitment drive such as ours?

No.

5/10
and a lucky 5 at that no tactical knowledge whatsoever and baffling substitutions along with the failure to replace Bent and get a LB in for the last 2 seasons. Everyone goes on about the injuries when we were getting beat off Fulham West Brom etc. at SOL, yet no mention of them when we beat Wigan and West Ham.
