Monk will end up the best manager we have ever had. His work rate and passion is far better than the last ten managers combined...He will go far and a future England manager in the making..
bollocks Dai get off the ganja mon.
Less of those blue smarties Dai!.............![]()
Watch this space those who cant see the potential of monk. he will become a top manager in a few seasons you wait and see....
I hear it all the time about how well monk is learning his trade and yes he will make a few mistakes on the way but where we saw other managers persist in doing the same thing like Martinez,Brendan and laudrup did trying to prove they were right monk will think about things and come out and say he got things wrong. I like that in any manager and prefer that than be fed bullshit. Monk has a lot to learn yet we all know that not least monk himself but what i have seen so far and what football writer's and other managers are saying about him then i have faith and confidence that he will succeed in becoming a great manager...I wouldn't underestimate what Dai has said here.
Monk arrived when we were in the lower levels and he adjusted to be competitive as we moved up until his age and limitations caught up with him. The ability to assimilate, adjust and grow is a part of who he is. These traits will serve him well as a coach / manager providing he doesn't reach the constraints of his natural ability early in the process.
He was forced to dive into the deep end. In part by circumstances, some of which it has been ascerted were part of his doing .... who's to say. But still, no mean challenge to undertake when you're as green as grass ... it takes balls and confidence and perhaps a touch of idiocy. He has prevailed so far where many far more seasoned "Prem" managers have struggled. It hasn't always been pretty and there's been plenty of contention and debate around his match management etc. However, you have to recognize what's going on and the trajectory of Monk the manager and the team this season.
Without wishing to touch off another **** storm, I wasn't happy about the Laudrup affair, but I am happy about where we are and how we are going about our business today. This includes being happy with Monk.

one question I have to ask re signings - is Monk the main man or do they get approved by higher? I also hope he is lining up replacements for Rangel and Britton who are getting past their use by date.
no one seems to know re the transfers hence no answer?
Not sure who's signing off on the transfers, but I think Carroll could be a long term replacement for Leon (if we can get him at a reasonable price). I'd like to know if Fede Fernandez or Bartley can play at RB. I rate both of them about the same.
I'd like to think that Monk gets the final say on players.

It's also our first back to back wins since the start of the season.
Agree PGF, but we need to seriously work on getting that second goal, and with the chances we create it's criminal we don't............![]()
