Another more sensible reason... a lot of folk have spent a lot this Christmas and can't afford the £54 it'd take to get to Sunderland and back. Doesn't matter whether we have a depleted team or not, I remember seeing City vs Burnley on New Years Eve in 2010 one year with a young Paul McShane at right back, and a god awful Peter Gulasci performance. £34 for an adult ticket on Boxing Day is a bit daft, was a tenner to get into Burnley that day on an adult ticket, and that's only 4 years ago in the Championship!

I'll be going to the Everton game on New Years day, shame I'm out of town on the 28th... but whenever I watch City vs Leicester we ALWAYS lose so I'm sticking as far away as I can!

Other teams don't seem to have problems selling their tickets. Our away following is very poor except when the sit down shut up brigade are out in force to watch the other teams stars at the glamour clubs. Sunderland would have sold theirs out if they were playing St the KC with thousands more wanting tickets than were available.
At least most of ours there will be proper fans wanting to get behind the team.

Give it a rest mate, your Sunderland 'love in' has gone way beyond boring.

You off to watch your second team play Sunderland on boxing day?

I'm not, I'll be down South at the in laws.

Is that allowed?

Do what the **** you want. Sorry if the truth about our support upsets you. Some of our fans, like Strovolos, coming out with crap about Sunderland's poor support when they average 40,000 and take loads more away is embarrassing.

Whilst acknowledging the wind up nature of the OP, it's a fair point.

The truth is that many can't be arsed whilst Allam is in charge.

**** me, surprise, surprise another thread instantly turned into anti Allam.
You go to support YOUR TEAM not Allam. I have been supporting my team for 35 years and know numerous people of the same ilk and don't know one other person who is not going now because of Allam.
****ing get over yourself and support you ****ing team when they need you.

What's your point, are you pissed off at missing the game ? Have you got to be going to the SOL on Boxing Day to be able to pass comment on a silly statement ?

I'm just wondering whether the poster who continuously berates our away support, and home support in fact, is actually going on Boxing Day.

If he is then fair play, if not then I would suggest he shuts the **** up.

I thought it was obvious really.

We'll come very close to selling out. Single tickets only in the lower bowl now.

Nice one Funky, should be great atmosphere ...... we won't have many but, we'll still out-sing you :emoticon-0150-hands .......... we'll be especially noisy when you go down to 10 men and we score from the resultant free kick ! You in the Colliery pre-match ?

No, I won't be there. Nothing to do with expense, I can afford it easily, nothing to do with any anti Allam stuff, or having to go to the in laws. But don't let that stop you getting all stroppy because someone speaks the truth.
My responses are to deluded idiots who day how great our support is when it isn't, who go on about expanding the stadium when there is no need and idiots like Strovolos who say Sunderland's support is crap when they have been averaging 40,000 during some poor seasons and who makes the ludicrous claim they have 20,000 empty seats.

I completely agree with a lot of your post but, you dont go i think cos of the sterile atmosphere, seating, policing etc etc. Yet as you say the Sunderland lads still do it in spite of the things that stop you wanting to go.

Turning into tasty encounters this fixture. I'm looking forward to it. Just hope I can be there. I have my season card but no lift so it stands. :( Finger crossed.

A rhetorical question (and not just aimed at you 1904) ................ how can you be said to be supporting your team if you're just sat mutely ''spectating'' ? In my opinion, for whatever that's worth, if you're just sat, you're not supporting, you're spectating.

Edited to add .......... not plagiarising CC, we were typing together !!

My issue with that is very generic there are multiple people who support Hull City who don't sign and i do disagree with your opinion completely. I know below you said you meant away games but why is that any different? At some point we are all quiet at games so at that point do we stop supporting and start spectating?

Supporting does not mean you sing, and personally i feel you are offending those who don't. Personally i like a good atmosphere and do try to get involved but i know those that don't and i get why. Half the game some people don't even watch it and are just talking to there mates and singing whats the point in that?

I go to support Hull City if i don't sing i am still supporting the club.

I am not going as I have been in hospital 3 times with heart and breathing problems in the last 6 weeks. Better than 2 years ago when I was in 6 tines in 8 weeks at one period. Missed 9 of the home games despite having a season ticket for those reasons last year. On a load of medication and am not going to risk driving when I have been advised not to. Unfortunately with the lack of transport on Boxing Day couldn't get there or to ?Hull to link up with coaches.
Still, let Carmine come out with his nonsense.

Trust me mate, as someone who stands for every away game he goes to - I would go if I could, but £54 is definitely out of my price range this year! Not getting into this "proper fans" lark again - money doesn't mean everything.

Not talking about individuals. Talking about us in general. Other clubs don't seem to have such have a problem.
By proper fans at Sunderland I meant the type who will be there to support the team not sit like dummies complaining to stewards they can't see the other teams stars and getting their own fans ejected.
