That's the problem though, a manager should be able to do something about that other than shut the door. How **** all our other strikers are means he should have been given a chance in something other than a non event LC tie. He'd looked lively in a couple of sub appearances.

..and Kimbo falls over a lot........<laugh>

I doubt you'll find anyone who really likes the route one stuff, but until we get a system where the midfield is adequately "staffed" we don't seem capable of "knocking it around" the way we'd like to see and certainly not the way we're playing right now.

At the moment, we need to beat teams in any way we can, and if it's route one, so be it.

But the irony there Sparks is effective route 1 needs dynamic midfielders winning the knock downs and 2nd balls. It also requires an effort level and physicality we simply do not possess. We must play football on the deck, it's the only chance we have.

ALf needs to come of the bench to score goals - an impact player, look at his time at Reading. Stellar preformances off the bench only to be dropped back to the bench after being ineffective when starting.

We really need a striker who can score in January <ok>

We need to start keeping the ball and passing it to our own players as a base for our game.

Have we reached 50% possession in any game under Slade yet.

This is in no way a dig as if it wasn't for my Wife I might well have left at half time too. 2nd half showed we can play football, using the pace and movement of Noone, Harris and Alf. The guile of Whitts, our fb's started overlapping and we had them under real pressure. If players like Whitts, Noone, Harris, Daehli, Kim, and Alf can't be made to play a passing game with attacking full backs outside them then Slade really does need to **** off now.

That's just my point Stevo. Slade is just not picking those sort of guys to play together is he? He is determined to push his 4-4-2 system down out throats whether it's working or not.

If he plays those 6 you've mention together in the same team, I'd be flabbergasted. If you add in Pilks who just has to be part of our plans and the two overlapping fullbacks you mention, that just leaves slots for Marshall and a defender - fck me, I'd pay double to watch that!!.....<laugh>

The guy is not pushing the boundaries out to encompass the strengths at the club (for what they're worth) and it'll take a sea change in his attitude to get this show on the road.

    I am dreading this window.

With all the garbage Ole signed Slade has actually managed to get rid of Ravel and Daehli , 2 players who can pass and are comfortable on the ball.

Lucky weve got 30 points in the bag or we could be in big trouble.

Dread to think who he brings in to play in his 4 4 2 system. Maybe a League 2 centre back to play right back so Brayford can go out of position again at left back.

We are garbage at the moment with an out of his depth manager.

We need a 5 man midfield but hes got rid of the 2 ideal to play the AM role.

At half time I'd have agreed with everything you said. I still agree with a good percentage of it not least the outward transfers.
Did you not see some potential in the 2nd half system? The changes were subtle but significant imo.

I wasn't suggesting it as a line up! <laugh>. Just demonstrating the tools at his disposal are more football than hoof ball orientated.

.....and I missed the second half......<laugh>

Stevo - the tools at his disposal have not been utilised in the way they could have been, just more of the same old, same old.........

    Me I was there.

Yes, the changes helped us stop Brentford playing, Pritchard in particular. I also think they tired a bit too which helped KWJ play his game. With a little luck ALF could have scored a couple and if we can continue that way goals will come.

I have no confidence for the next 2 games though.
