If the plans for the Club are succesful at what point do you think we will sell out the ground and have a waitimg list for season tickets that is sufficient to contemplate expanding the stadium?bbb

We're unfortunately a hell of a long way off that. Years and years.

I think we will need the recession to be over, more employment, the cost of going to the pub to outweigh the cost of going to a match (which will never happen) and Europe to fill it every home game and have a waiting list for season tickets.

    Way off mate.

I'd say we'd need 2-3 consecutive seasons in Europe to even contemplate it, and you've gotta consider the negative effect of more empty seats.

We know the demand was there in the Reidy era, but the Wilko fiasco scared thousands off, some of them may never return.

You'd be talking about huge concession areas as well, so whether it's cost effective, who knows.

    Europe is the key, unquestionably.

There's a heck of a lot of work to do before we get to the stage of waiting lists. Success on the pitch, household names and affordable prices is what is required to attract new/lapsed support to the ground.

If we have a season of consistently good football then we'll be selling out. Unfortunately last season we were outstanding for half and beyond awful after that. A whole season of good football would see lots more people.

The main reason though has to be the money. People just can't afford to go week in week out especially if they're living away. Would absolutely love to see 49,000 every week though!

What we get on the pitch will decide how the stadium is filled, we play crap and the attendances drop we play well and they go up. Don't think Europe is the answer it would obviously help though, 2 or 3 good seasons in PL and a decent cup run will see the SOL selling out on a regular basis. I can't see us having a waiting list anytime in the next few years unfortunately as said money is the main problem.

Make all the tickets £1 for kids and £5 for adults, you would see it full then. Bringing the price down is the only way fill the stadium, TV is getting better an better, you cannot beat the live experience but when it costs so much people will always make do with watching it in the pub. Bring the price down and you will see a full stadium.

Agree vegas but if you bring the price down too much the club will lose out on much needed revenue. A happy balance has to be made so that the fans get to see the games and fill the SOL and the club benefits through ticket money. To be honest mate the prices aren't that bad compared with most PL clubs, although some sort of concession for the lads on the rock and roll would perhaps get more in. I'm sure someone mentioned something like that on 606 last year as well seems like a winner to me.

I struggle to get up to home games with living and working so far south so I'm not really in a position to say 'do this do that' as season ticket holders would be.

However I would like to see the club trial a system whereby our average attendance and therefore ticket revenue is measured over, say, the first three months of the season. Then take said average figure, and work out how much that would equate to per ticket with the extra 8000 people. Should save a fiver or so off the ticket price and would be interesting to see if this drop in price filled the ground.

It wouldn't make the club any more money, but it wouldn't lose us any either, and I'm very much of the 'if the seats are there we should fill them' philosophy. Hopefully cheaper seats = extra 8/10 000 = better atmosphere = players wanting to play here more = success on the field = full stadium at original ticket cost.

Means paying a lot more for security, facilities management, general maintenance and that. Not financially worthwhile unfortunately.

I'd like to think that's the case mate but unfortunately we live in a cynical world. Why please more when you can please less for the same profit...
