100% This! I'm getting so bored of football in general because of the players... Lack of effort, cheating, complaining, playing games for higher wages (which are already ridiculus!)

I think football is in a very dark place at the moment!

It's been f***d for years mate.

Bruce unhappy with ref

Hull in bottom 3

Steve Bruce: Chelsea have no weaknesses

Get them excuses in early Steve, but you missed i was sacked at Sunderland Cos i wus a jawdee

Too f*****g right he complains. Mourinho is now looking at a bid for Tom Daley in January cause he needs to strengthen his team.
The Cahill dive is worse than what Cashley Young produeces week in week out.
As usual though, the FA will do f**k all about it.
You might as well pay to watch ballet nowadays with all the prancing about these footballers do.

We don't see too many of you on the Ull board either.

No reason to go there mate tbh.

This is true. All teams do it, us included. I can`t see a solution other than retrospective punishment and deduction of points, but, as you say, the gutless FA will do nothing.

I don't see any plausible reason why diving isn't a straight red.

It's cheating, and cheating removes the whole 'sport' element from the game. Mandatory red and it would stop almost instantly.

The thing is though Nads the refs are deceived, hence the penalty decisions. A retrospective deduction of 3 points, regardless of the result might be a start.

If you get referees sending people off for diving when in fact they HAVE been fouled then that will open up another controversial can of worms!!!! Punishments after the matches are the only way forward in my opinion!

Both fair points like, have to agree. But it's bullshit cheating, absolute bullshit.

They'd never do retrospective punishment that changed the outcome of games like, so I guess they should make it a mandatory 5 game ban, something harsh.

Agree with the player ban but the team would still benefit by keeping the cheated points. I`d go for both. 3 game ban and lose 3 points. Would sort it in no time.

Not a cat in hells chance they'll do that though mate, player ban could happen but they'd never dock points, there'd be legal teams all over it.

It's always fun to laugh at Steve Bruce but is it reasonable for the FA to fine him £20000 or whatever for telling the truth?

There is something rotten creeping into the game and who is going to stop it?
If cheating isn't stamped on then it becomes part of the game and every player has to join in or their team are giving an edge to the opposition.
The FA prefer to hush up managers than try to deal with this cancer.

No red card in the game as that is too much on the ref but if proven after the match the cheated team gets to ban any player from the oppo the next time they play

The only realistic , legal solution ( a player not being sent off doesn't mean a team would have won/lost/drawn) would be a retrospective ban on the player - for diving and/or violent behaviour i.e. Unsportsmanlike. Ten game ban minimum is 1/4 of a season, which should really make players think before they dive, lash out. If you offend a second time, it's a twenty game ban.

Clubs should then have contracts which reduces any banned players salary for the duration of the ban and donate the cash to a local charity. Unfortunately, that would be highly unlikely, but clubs should be reprimanded for not managing players sportsmanship.

It needs to be punitive and preventative, or it won't wash.
