I never complain about refs but that Cahill decision was a ****ing disgrace. Fear of the big team syndrome. bottle less ****er.

Whether it would have led to us getting a draw or a win is probably unlikely but weak and cowardly cop out.

All of the refs are ****. I genuinely can't remember the last time I saw a game (in football in general) without a pretty bad decision.

He book every other dive in the match apart from that one, i don't get how referee's performances aren't scrutinized more. We would possibly of still gone on to lose that game but we would of been in a much better position to push on at least.

Swanny has said Cahill dived out the way to stop himself getting hurt.

Swanny is a ****ing idiot who shouldn't have a job.

Foy really, really needs to look at how he arranges walls at free kicks - I hope the watching supervisor picked up on that. Chelsea took the piss more than once - they weren't 10 yards back to start with, and then they advanced before the kick was taken.

So why the hell did he turn immediately to the ref as if to look for a pen. Pillock

    Unfortunately, I agree.

I know it sounds like bleating, but I really think we've been shafted on a few occasions this season by refs.

The general standard seems to be pretty low, and getting lower.

It was good to see the ref pulling them up a couple of times for diving but it was a pity that he bottled it on the Cahill dive (it certainly didn't look like avoiding action!). Cahill was pretty lucky to still be on the pitch after his tackle on Aluko.

It's one of my many frequent gripes in football, that a player is rewarded for being on a yellow card with leniency for future offences.

As a team were so easy to give decisions against. Places like Chelsea you can see how the ref is scared to make decisions but we don't get that same benefit at home games. Yet again we've been shafted when playing away at an old fashioned ground with fans close to the pitch. It's always the same at Everton, Palace, West Ham, QPR, Chelsea...

I agree Bill. Most blatant theatrical dive of the game and instead of a second yellow he lets it go. They would have been down to 10 and it could have been a different game. Disgraceful decision by Foy.

Pretty lucky alright, if it had been a City player the red card would of been out straight away.

    Foy bottled it.......earlier in 2014

"Jose Mourinho has urged Premier League bosses to BAN referee Chris Foy from Chelsea games after the Blues' Villa Park red rage.

Brazilians Willian and Ramires were sent off, with Mourinho also banished to the stands after marching on to the pitch to confront whistler Foy as Chelsea's title hopes took a massive hit with Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa.

Mourinho will discover on Monday if he faces any FA punishment for his altercation with Foy during the game and when he went to the referee's changing room immediately after the final whistle.

Chelsea vehemently denied claims that Mourinho and John Terry had forced their way through the door, although the Stamford Bridge boss conceded he had breached protocol in approaching the referee before the end of the 30-minute cool-down "window".

While Ramires could have no complaints about what Villa boss Paul Lambert described as a "leg breaker" on Karim El Ahmadi, Willian's second yellow after a tussle with match-winner Fabian Delph looked harsh.

In the last eight Chelsea games he has officiated, Foy has now sent off SIX of their players.

Mourinho said: "Maybe it is helpful that the committee doesn't send him to our matches. I don't have the right to request that. It's just that I think they have to analyse the situation and see.

"Every time he has Chelsea - or not every time, but many times he has Chelsea and the problems are there. I think maybe it would be a good decision."

Garth Crooks in "talking sense" shock!

"Jose Mourinho said other clubs seem to be diving. That's a justification for your team doing it, is it? Today we're talking about your team, Jose. If he's using what other teams do as a defence for his team then I'm not having it.
"Jose is wrong about Willian not simulating because Chris Foy booked him. And Jose's wrong about Gary Cahill, because he dived."

He always looked like he wanted to send someone off. He was very card-happy.

You can shout and scream all you like, but he'll still be reffing next week and dropping all kinds of bollocks...These blokes seem untouchable, and Riley and Webb will still be picking up pay packets for doing **** all....

Little wonder an increasing number of fans think that football in the premiership is bent....

I feel your pain Tigers - we at Swansea have suffered the idiot Foy on two occasions this season and on both he sent off one of ours. The latter, Fabianski against West Ham last weekend, was roundly condemned and unanimously tipped to be rescinded on appeal only to be upheld by Riley and his cronies, without even giving us any explanation for their decision.

Something is seriously wrong with the referees in this league who seem to have little backbone when faced with the big decisions; Cahill wasn't sent off because he was a Chelsea player - simple as that! Was following the games on Final Score and Garth Crooks (as mentioned in Tuckin's post) was absolutely furious and went far further in his condemnation of referees than Tuckin's post suggests!

One day the penny may drop that most teams are outside of the top four but until that day don't expect many major decisions in your favour from the men in black!!

    Very true.

Talking pundits, how has Hartson got such a role?

I'm assuming it's due to the fact the poor sod nearly died and that he's Welsh (thus offering an all important minority viewpoint).

Seriously though, he's far from evil, but the stuff he comes out with is just akin to the tamer football talk you'd hear down the pub?

    Or is that the point?

That's interesting. Absolutely no doubt it'll have affected his decision. He'll have been dreading having to send a Chelsea player off with those Mourinho comments in mind. It's ridiculous how certain teams can have such control over referees.
