Wouldn't mind us going for Alex song. Good player at arsenal not played much at Barca but come to West Ham and did well. Much better than that level no disrespect (also ironic given they are 3rd I know). Only on loan so future is up in the air and can't see him going back to Barca to sit on the bench, n that's if he's lucky! £10m would be a brilliant signing
i have got to get used to the post tv del prices... yes tehcnically 10mil is cheap for a first team performer these days... he's not quite good enough but better than the muck we have
Song would have been useful but I rather we go for Carvalho - brilliant player already but with immense potential. I know there's a few of us that don't want us to be signing potential but there's a difference between young players who have little experience and being labelled as the next Messi, and players who are young but have a lot of competitive football under their belts.
That may be 30m euros but hopefully we'll get him for £25m. I know it's a massive amount plus we'll up against some big competition. But this is such a crucial position - if we can nail this position, then it can have a knock on effect to the rest of the defence. The likes of Wanyama made Lovren look good last season - that shows you the real benefit of a top class DM. In terms of his overall style - quite well rounded with incredible composure for someone of his age. Still raw and rough though.
We only spent just over that... Can't see us making our money back or a profit on them Although Sunderland we're going to give us 13m for Borini!!! Prob sell him for like 7 now
We negotiated on Moreno before paying the asking price lol Mankiller is on loan. Can I'll give you. Lallana? Lovren? Balotelli? Sakho? Markovic? I was joking but also partly serious. We're **** at negotiating. The only decent business we've done recently is refusing to sell Suarez the summer before last
I may be wrong, but weren't they asking for 16 on Moreno and we paid 12? I think there were also a couple of unreliable papers reporting them asking for 20, but don't believe those. I don't think Balotelli was that bad a negotiation; 16 million sounded reasonable in the summer. It's just that he's turned out worse than we feared But yes, I don't particularly rate our negotiating team, and have made several comments on here in that vein.
We wanted Balotelli on loan before paying £16m My opinion is a pound would have been too much I thought they wanted £16m for Moreno and we agreed to £12m plus add ons making up the remaining £4m. Unfortunately, these add ons are not the optional variation Fair enough if you see that as good negotiating but the buying club should be expecting to pay those add ons too though. Not that I'm complaining with that deal either mind.
Moreno was £11m plus a few add ons I thought.. better than just £16m straight up. Can we paid his release clause so not much negotiating to be done
So from 25 Brod signings, we can argue we negotiated a good deal for what, three of them? Studge, Coutinho and Moreno lol
Toure on a free... pushing it a bit I know! Lambert wa pretty cheap.. an English striker who had scored a few goal in the Prem 2 seasons in a row for £4m, normally we'd be paying over £10m for that!
Talking about negotiating a good deal though, not whats turned out decent. Like with loans, free agents don't require a massive amount of negotiation.
I'm clutching at straws given how bad it's looking To negotiate £4m for Lambert isn't too bad. What about negotiating a new contract for Suarez so we got £75m for him
