I thought Altidore played ok yesterday like. the team got worse when the lad got sub. put it this way, he did more than Fletcher in the last 3 games.

Mate, our front three rotate throughout the game, even AJ gets a stint in the middle. I believe none of our strikers can play this way. Fletch is fine with service but brings little else, the other two are just shocking imo. I'm hoping Watmore comes good as he's the only striker on the books who realistically can feel comfortable in any of the front three slots.
I think most forwards would struggle in our set up like. all I'm saying is Altidore has done ok the last 3 games & I would start him against West ham to. the lad hasn't a chance all season apart from yesterday like. wasn't it Altiodre first league start for over 8 months?
Really disappointed with Johnson like, i expected better from him. Fletcher? Well for me he's probably the best of the three but still falling short. To be fair, he's not exactly getting great service so i think he can do better if he does get the correct service. Altidore is just out of his depth in this league as is Graham, they need to go in January.
I only hope that Gus has recognised this and he and Congerton have identified some potential targets and Short will back them. We're treading water at the minute, but we can't do this for the full season, history tells us that if you don't score goals, inevitably you get relegated. Our saving grace so far has been the heroic performances of the defence and Catts, even Larsson. Imagine where we could be if had a prolific striker?
Don't get me wrong fella, I'm not saying they're bad players. Fletcher is great striker, but playing at hibs, Burnley, Wolves and MoN's Sunderland he's never played as part of a passing game. Good striker for a different team but by far the best we have at the minute. Jozy has to go this window if Connor has signed. We need a new striker desperately. A good one at that.

He's a decent footballer and his record for USA proves he can score goals, however given we aren't fantastic creatively we'll get maybe 1 or 2 clear chances in a game, sadly Jozy doesn't have the knack of getting himself into goal scoring positions. For some people that means he's ****, fair enough.
I choose to look at the larger picture and I think he contributes a great deal more than he is credited for, he's not your standard striker which is probably why a lot of people judge him on his goals alone, but he is brilliant at drawing fouls and taking in + holding up the ball, this is extremely good for relieving pressure. His link up play is also good, although not scoring many he contributed significantly in the build up of a lot of our goals last season, while not directly assisting his contribution was important.
Just my views, I think it's a shame he's probably off in Jan because he is a decent footballer. (Not saying he's great & his goal scoring record is awful, but it's better to have a striker that contributes to the general play but doesn't score than it is to have a striker that doesn't contribute and very rarely scores)

He's shi**,and the best thing about him is that he's a gentleman.As a premier-league player,he's rubbish!
Sorry mate but his hold up play is rubbish, watch some video footage of the Liverpool game and you'll see for yourself, it's crap. Rarely wins 50-50's and is far too easily shrugged off the ball for a big fella.
He has to go.
Against Fulham i remember his ball to Ki or AJ was exquisite, he's above DG but that in itself doesn't say alot..
Not the Jozy fan I used to be, don't like the way spat his dummy about not getting game time when it's only him to blame for dropping down the pecking order. But for our shortest striker he walks all over the other two on headed duels mate, there's no bigger 50-50 duel on the pitch. he's won 63%(14 in 226 minutes), Connor, our tallest striker 49%(41 in 1251 minutes)and Fletch 39% (33 in 861 minutes). Now weather this is a case of Jozy improving with his heading or the other two being **** I don't know. All I know is Jozy is beating cb's much taller than him to those 50/50s.
So credit to Jozy there. But I remember that fantastic ball he whipped across goal and how disappointing he looked that Wickham didn't even attempt to get on the end of it and I thought ****in hell Jozy, you've rarely committed yourself to a ball like that since you joined us, and when you have you've bottled it, no right getting wound up at others not getting into the positions you refuse to get into yourself. Now you know you make other feel when you lack instinct. Sell him.
He may be a decent striker for his countrty and abroad, but in England, in the PRem, he doesnt make the grade. He has had time with us, plus a season when he was younger at Hull. He knows what the league is about and can't adapt his game to be effective in it. I like the bloke, but he simply can't cut in the the Prem. He isn't the first and won't be last player to not be able to make it here, but there is obviously something there.
Needs to go, and when he does and if we replaced him with somebody who knows what a goal actually looks like we will look back and wonder why the hell did we persist so long with this guy!Im a nice guy and i always put a shift in on the pitch doesnt mean i should start for the Dog and Duck Pub never mind a Premiership team.
I dont think he even puts a shift in to be honest, he is our worst signing since Rod Bellfit, a total let down and will never make it in the premiership, he is just to slow in thought and movement, watch his body language , it is always somebody else at fault when he fails, which is repeatedly, he has to go.
Just watched a re-run of the Liverpool game and Wickhams second (i'll say penalty shout even though it was a dive). He (Connor) breaks away from his marker and glances across, there's no ****er in the middle and you can clearly see Josy wondering if he should make a run into the box. Clearly reacting and not being proactive mate. He's as slow as a week in jail FFS and not just his legs.
I can honestly say that I've never really liked him, but secretly wanted him to prove me wrong as like most on here, I hate to see any Sunderland player fail. Unfortunately I think it's time he went to a team in the lower leagues where I think he is more suited. He's just not EPL material imo.

I didn't watch the Liverpool game so can't comment much on that, but I did read he had a decent game. Most the games I've seen he's done a job
He does lack instinct, that's his biggest downfall. But I maintain he contributes a lot more to the general play than Fletch or Wickham, his lack of scoring is a problem though, if we had a proper goal scorer he'd be very useful to come off the bench of relieve some pressure
