If we can win against WBA and Palace, that will leave us with half a season to pick up 14-15 points. We have been awful away, but we will only be playing the bottom half away, but it means our games at home are going to get a lot tougher. But I'm confident we will do enough to stay up comfortably in the end.
4 wins same total last time we were in the premier. Get a couple of away wins against the bottom 7/8 think we will be OK. Charlie top English striker, rest next week and up for it against WBA. Home form looking solid.
Charlie gets his 2nd yellow then a minute later Boyd commits the exact same offence and gets.......................................a corner! WTF.
Right...so just home, great to be in the upper loft again, well worth the trip over from Paris! Great to see a game live, brilliant atmosphere in the Loft as ever. Vargas was particularly impressive, never stopped moving into space and creating space for others. Dunne was very solid at the back which was good to see, and some top top saves from Green...the double save was brilliant and when he got the top of his fingers to the ball to push it onto the post my voice was gone. Superb save...top top notch. So so good to be back at Loftus Road and to see a win. So, as we played well, and won, it is clear my being at the games is crucial to us winning. Anyone who wants to contribute toward the 'DaveRangers Eurostar For matches fund', send me a message for details of how to help. YOU R'SSSS!!!!!
In upcoming games, Fer & Dunne are also looking at potential 5th yellows before the amnesty date - does that come with the New Year? Regarding Charlie's count, doesn't he actually have 2 yellows that resulted in a red for a one match ban? Discipline ............Yellow..Red Cards Austin........1......1 Fer............4...... 0 Dunne........4...... 0
I thought Dunne had just served his suspension? I thought we were pretty poor today, it was just that Burnley were even worse!! Dunne was immense, as was Green with that save onto the post. Huge result!
I said at half-time that we were watching two poor sides. Massive win, though, and HR gets another reprieve. Our pathetic away performances make every home game a must-win. Dunne MOM.
Pretty dire stuff, no one could have complained if Burnley had been 1 up at the break. Which is when I said (or yelled) that we would win 2 - 0, witnessed by Col, Beth, Terry , QPRski (over from Warsaw, great to meet you mate) and Roller. Finish for the first was a bit scruffy, but both goals well worked. And so the circus moves on. We won't miss Charlie against Everton, as we won't be set up to cross the ball anyway. Couldn't really tell from the stands if he deserved his cards. Don't usually comment on refs as they do a job you could not pay me enough to take on. But this one seemed a little, shall we say, inconsistent.
Bloody hell Lone. Fair play to you for your optimism but we're above the rel zone by a point and ain't got a point away yet. I don't think there'll be anything comfortable about our season this year. It'll be a scrap to the end for a whole bunch of teams. A loss against Everton and we'll probably be back in the zone. COL, were you there today? Were we as poor in the first half as my crappy stream suggested?
I'm sure Col will agree, yes we were. Thankfully they were crappy too, though they were a bit more threatening than us, great save from Green and shedloads (it felt like) of corners.
Couldn't really argue with either of Austin's cards, but their keeper's assault on Austin and Boyd's on Dunne were every bit as bad and went unpunished.
I was there and we were terrible in the first half. Both goals were well worked, but in between them it was all Burnley. Luckily they were even worse than us. It doesn't help that our away form heaps so much pressure onto the home games. The crowd seemed a little nervous today and the players almost went to pieces after we went a goal up. The 2nd one knocked the stuffing out of Burnley and they didn't really look like scoring even when we were down to 10 men. Dunne kept Ings very quiet and was MOTM imo.
