July 1st: Re Craig Mackail-Smith to #lcfc - it's my understanding he met Sven this morning. Not expecting confirmation today but I believe he's a Fox! July 4th: Craig Mackail Smith, who met Sven last week (plus Posh chairman said he 'expected' him to sign for #lcfc ) has joined Brighton. Interesting ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ June 29th: Well Foxes fans, I reckon tomorrow could see some business at the club. Lots of names, Nugent looks nailed on and hopefully defenders June 30th: @The72football indeed. Poor shout re Nugent from me. Believing what I was reading in the papers. Am I the only one beginning to wish his holiday had been permanent???????
I have to admit he is finding it increasingly hard to defend the wage that he earns.... Whats the point in simply rehashing newspaer gossip? Thats what we do on Not606...but we dont get paid to do it! Wheres the justice?
If Mackail-Smith has joined Brighton then it shows he lacks ambition. He may as well have stopped at Peterborough!
You have to remember Stringer has been on hoilday so has been out the loop so it playing catch up. He didnt get much wrong last season and the nugent deal is still on as well know. The CMS deal came from the pboro chairman
Proud, I can sort of understand that, and it's easy to get it wrong from time to time. But it's Stringer's job, as PYFU says, to decipher between newspaper tittle-tattle and actually factual information. By saying that Nugent and CMS would definitely sign, he has led fans to believe this, coming from someone 'in the know' as Stringer is, and has inevitably led to disappointment. And yes, Nugent may well still sign, but Strings said he would sign last week. And what about the defenders? I can understand the pressure of the job, but if he isn't 100% sure that players will sign, he shouldn't say they will.
Stringer is like us a fan and post things he hears. We all (Including me) cling onto nearly every word he says so you need to wait until the club announces signings etc. Or if you a Cov fan even that is good enough, you need to wait til you see it with your own eyes
Not impressed with what has been coming out of his mouth. He gets paid for it - is supposed to be a professional. Think he needs to keep his gob shut from here on in.
The problem is that Stringer is a paid football pundit with his ear to the ground (supposedly). He needs to qualify what he states rather than iddle tittle tattle (that's for us fans to do). He needs to report with information and qualify his statements. Twatter is a load of **** - you can anly post so many characters at a time so you have to go for sensational headlines. Stringer must have learnt a big lesson by now (and I know he is reading this)! He reads all teh boards himself to find out what is happening. I dont blame him for CMS and no one knew what was going on...but he needs to rein in what he blabbing about.
This is the problem, he is now going to be as caucious as f*** after the CMS incident, so we aren't going to get any serious breaking news from him.
Agreed, he wont say anything until its 100% which means we will probaly find out last minute from now on
As some others have said, Stringer has a duty to be the media link between the club and the fans. He can't just spout rumours (unless he makes it very clear that it's only rumours) about players. Most of what we hear on twitter we will take with a pinch of salt, but Stringer knows that he is percieved to be in the know and he needs to be more careful. Often he may claim to not have said anything but he knows very well that his wording can be misleading. We were getting on just fine whilst he was on holiday - plenty of unsubstantiated rumours that you would be foolish to take as fact, yet were open to debate and may have had some truth in them. We are not ******s, we know we can check the club website for official announcements of signings or watch East Midlands Today or SSN. We don't need Stringer and the whole transfer season has become frustrating since he and Tanner started to open their mouths. I like Stringer as a commentator, he's passionate and entertaining, but I think he should just stick to that instead of trying to look like he's in the know. If I want some inside info I'll read Bert's posts on Foxestalk.
BBC Radio Leicester just said their will be MASSIVE new concerning Leicester city in the morning I have had enough of this, why cant they just say what the bloody news is and talk about it. They big it up people get exicted start thinking Lionel Messi is signing then it turns out we have a friendly game with someone and because of how BBC radio Leicester built up the Madrid friendly people was a little disappointed
Maybe the Reserves have a fixture at the Green King Stadium. My wife just said 'Dont think I'm getting up at bloody 6 o'clock to listen for you'. Must remember to set her alarm for 5.45.
not a fan of stringers tweets? unfollow then, simple. rumours from him are better than most, who cares if they dont all come off? somebody has to offer semi credible gossip to get us through the transfer window
