It does seem odd we have 3 or 4 players whose only realistic position is in the traditional playmaker #10 slot - Fer, Mutch, Kranjcar & "you know who". All of them are a liability / luxury / wasted played wide (as HR insists on) or as one of a central 2.
On the basis we will have the minority of possession in most games - Seems we need a solid base of 2 holding (Sandro / Henry?.....Sandro / Ali would have had potential), 2 wider players (Hoilett/Vargas), a #10 (take your pick) and Austin
Defence almost picks itself - Isla, Dunne, Caulker and Yun
Not a lot of margin for error for injuries and suspension but instead of chopping and changing and playing players out of position with no width or pace how about some consistency and logical selections or is that too much to ask
It's just a repeat of last years garbage but against much better & more ruthless teams.

Sadly it does reflect the haphazard recruitment policy that was instigated with a formation in mind that was quickly abandoned and we're left with square pegs and round holes. The "it's difficult, thought we might nick something, they're a tough team bollox" is very tiring. Why not try something f****** different then!!

The insanity of our away tactics (keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result) has surely run its course

Just from what I saw earlier in the season before he got hurt. He's strong on and off the ball and his position sense is better than Joey.
We'll have to see how he is as he gets more game time

Nope..........haven't seen any of that. I have noticed that he's very, very slow.

With the players you have in your squad you should at least be in the top half....Your problem is down to old school football that is past its sell-by date and where most managers have grasped that fact that has been around quite a while now and have changed with it harry is stuck in a time warp and his tactics are easy for the modern manager to deal with. Harry was a good tactition a few years back but his style will only win the odd game here and there in today's modern game, He has the players to do the job but he does not want to change for some reason, and yet if you listen to him he talks a good game and he praises other teams but he never puts it into practice...Its time to move on and let somebody else take over, someone who is more up to date with the modern game...

I think he might have something there.

No width and little pace, allows the opposition to step up and compact the pitch making it very hard for us.

SO back to the subject of tactics, I think Id like HR to revert back to the 3-5-2 Wing back system for away games if he hasnt got anything else to offer. We may as well give it a go as it isnt going to make any diffrence to our results.
We may shock ourselves into attacking and maybe getting at the oppo and (and forbid) actually suprise everyone and win a game.

Im not convinced it would make a lot of diffrence but it would be a more entertaining spectacle for the supportes that travelled and everyone watching.

Why not? We've obviously played it before....AND...if we win, Harry can say I told you so at the start of the season..

That's a good post Canada.

I think he might have something there.

you simply cannot argue any of this statement , keep him and we will continue along the same sorry road
A lot of R fans have been saying this for many weeks and months.
NOW opposing supporters see the obivious that many of us have been seeing. I can see being done by Burnley
and still we will be keeping Dino . This needs sorting before the window opens

So we can let 4 goals in intend of 2. Great. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

No, but seriously, I prefer 5-4-1 at this point , stuff the middle, stuff the back and let the wing backs fly, get crosses in every time they're down the flank, and Charlie just has to be there.

May be you noticed that the whole team appeared to be slow at the start of the season the big losses we had didn't help. Mutch will be good, I promise you. I've never been wrong with my player estimates. Trust me. :emoticon-0105-wink:

This from a Swansea fan, even away fans can see it and they are not as exposed to it as us. You just cant sit back in this division, especially with our defence. I just wonder what the players think when they see the team sheets. Any good team spirit that has been built may dwindle very quickly
