I just do not understand our tactics, No wonder we havent got a point in 7 away games and only 2 goals as the way we play gives our opposition so much confidence, We dont get tight enough, when we play with one upfront we have no options and most of our passes are backwards. We could have lost by 6 tonight. Why do we play so differently to at home. FFS Arry let them go and play and give the opposition something to think about. Thats one shot on target in the last 2 away games as well. Its not rocket science to change something?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.............
Look at my post on the match thread page 1 and tell me I'm wrong. He's picking the wrong team for away games (and most home ones too) He's sending out a clear message before a ball is even kicked, 'we're hear to defend and hang on like fu•k'. Opposition managers must be laughing like fu•k before they play us cause we're so predictable. I don't know any other team that would attempt to play a Prem match with four central midfielders and two of them (Barton and Fer) can't pass.
Harry doesn't do tactics, that's the conclusion I've arrived at. In fact I've already stopped getting wound up by the managers inept decisions. I've decided to take each game as it comes and try to enjoy the wins we'll achieve at home because away from home we'll get next to nothing with Redknapp and these coaches in charge. I've also chilled out about sacking him. I'm quite relaxed and willing to leave that decision to TF, whenever he gets around to it. Which he will at some point for sure. What division we'll be in at that point is another thing. The thing that I cannot understand though is that after taking 2 years to show any sign of real attacking football at home, why can he not do it away. It's quite bizarre. As I said our Harry doesn't do tactics.
I saw a shot of Hoddle & Les watching the match up in the stands - I wonder what is their opinion of our current tactics and their suggestion to improve things?
Sorry chaps, but QPR were the worst side to visit The Liberty this season (and Burnley and Leicester have already been here). I looked at your team sheet before the game and it's got Championship written all over it, and the match proved it. You didn't compete and how Harry can justify claiming his wages for that performance is incomprehensible. Rob Green was outstanding but the match itself was a non-event and 'Arry has to carry the can for that.
I think we are playing to soak up pressure on our away games and then nick a goal. The trouble is that the more you soak up pressure, the other team can gain confidence and it becomes relentless. It was a case of when Swansea would score, rather than if.
PGF, any chance you could go back and tell that to Yankee? He seems to think Harry's doing a triffic job
I have said it at least 5 times on here , that he should have gone after the West Ham disaster , while everyone was happy with what was going on at home , away its a real disaster every time we play and that's because there is zero tactics , just play 4 central midfielders across the Middle and then pray. We have wingers , well we have them but never use them. Give the job to Hoddle and Les Ferdinand. Mind you if we beat Burnley everyone will be happy again , but not for the long term for the club , we need to pick up at least 12 away points to survive , as home form is not going to produce every game. Currently as we know we have zero from 7 games. Totally inept
He's got a point there, actually. We're so focused on our poor form and results that we're sort of blind as to how the opponents sees us. But as he said, looking at that way, we held out almost 80 minutes, and for them, that must have seemed like a tremendous effort to break us down. May be we're not as bad as we are, we just need to get at them more in attack and improve our midfield (which has been hard with Mutch and Joey out injured, Niko not always 100% and the back being shaky with injuries as well).
For me, apart from an excellent Green, Swans had players all over the park who were better than us, on the night anyway. I thought our set up was ok with what we had available, couldn't think of anyone on our Bench who would make a difference and Hoilett didn't.
