In all likelihood we'll both end up top 7 this season... lottery as to where though. It's ridiculous how Spurs have diminished since Harry's last season. That side with Bale, Modric etc played us off the pitch at White Hart Lane.

I think it's more than that... We needed the right replacements and didn't (or couldn't) get them. Of course Sturridge being out has ruined us too.

I think that's the point, you CAN'T replace world class talent with a handful of extra players. Having said that, we both could have chosen more astutely.

I think there was a great need for us to sign maybe three very good players - say Shaqiri level players for want of an example. It seems like we tried, failed, then resorted to the level below - Lallana, Markovic etc. But hey, in a year or two Markovic etc might be brilliant. Maybe...
In a year or two Lamela might look as if he's worth half of what we paid for him, too. I think the problem is that you get a large windfall from selling a world class player, who actually cost you relative peanuts. Everybody knows that you have the money, asking prices are raised consequently, and hasty & not properly thought through decisions are made. The pressure from expectant fans also adds to the problem.
Yeah, and perhaps Goofy might lose his taste for human flesh. Whilst it may be true that "anything is possible," it's rarely the case that it is, in practice.
Balotelli's a bit of a twat, but I think that he's actually trying to be anti-racist with that post, as misguided as it may be. Picking the version without the added couple of dodgy lines at the bottom might have helped him, though.
