This place is a bit desolate at the moment given our current clubs' standings.
HIAG, serious question, would you prefer Pochettino or Rafa Benitiez?

  4. Poch isn't going to last, of that there can be little doubt. Anyone who believes otherwise is engaging in wishful thinking. The only reason why Poch might last longer than he should is because Levy will expose, even further, the breathtaking degree of his own incompetence.

As much as I believe him to be a clown, I'd take Benitez in preference over the ****ty managers that Levy is likely to saddle us with. However, why on earth would Benitez want to come to Spurs?

I'd wager he will be with us for at least 3 years, unless he is very successful and gets poached by a top Spanish side.

BTW - are you keeping tabs on the Chelsea thread about you and the cancelling of your ban?

Rafa's one of those managers who does pretty well, but comes across as quite a bellend too often, for me.
The media in this country always loved to have a pop at him, encouraged by their good mates Jose and Fergie, and he got too involved in the mind games bollocks.
His signings tend to range from excellent to utter ****, though. If he spends a lot then it works, but his bargains tend to be anything but.

Quite shocked that you guys don't seem to rate Podge.

Things are never simple at Spurs are they? Similar to Pool in some ways.

Rafa would be a great signing for you lot. He is good at taking average teams and making them perform with the best.

I'm reserving judgement on poch,he needs time, and a lot of the senior players need to try his way of playing, and we might get somewhere.i don't know who the summeriser was on 5 live the other night, but he said ther ars signs that Spurs ars getting his system, and when they do they will be difficult to win against

  9. That's the first I've heard about that. I reckon my mate Ozzie has put in a good word for me.

It's too early to say either way, for me. He's doing some things right and some wrong.
The overall play against Everton was very good, especially in the first half, but we've had a few games where we've been very flat.
That's true of our previous couple of managers before him though, so that might take a while to iron out. Hope he gets enough time.

    Think he's decent enough.

I would give him another year or so. You can't do a lot in that time.

What is better on the market anyway? Except maybe Rafa, who I actually think would go to White Heart Lane.

He'd dealt with far worse than Levy (Hicks & Gillette and the donuts at Chelsea).

I don't like the defensive football he played at Chelsea and Liverpool. I'd rather have a manager that sets the team up to win or goes down swinging.

The trouble for us is that some of the senior players either won't or can't take on board what Pochettino wants them to do. The likes of Capoue and Dembele should be embarrassed at how much better we look with Mason and Bentaleb in the side.

    Yeah, fair enough.

Not all players fit I guess/ like a new system.

Re Rafa, although he does start with making the team difficult to beat, I think people egg on the whole defensive thing a bit too much. When we were second (much better than we had been before he arrived), we were actually top scorers in the league, and until recently were the team to score the most goals and gain the most points without winning the league - points probably succeeded by us last year!

I'll never forget us stuffing Real Madrid 4-0 at home midweek then going to Old Trafford on the weekend and stuffing them 1-4.

    I'd certainly settle for that.

  14. Benitez is, without a shadow of a doubt, a far better manager than most of the clowns that Levy has saddled us with, in recent times. But, as PNP said, the problem lies with his defensive style of football, which is in the style of George Graham. Both good managers, but they don't set their teams up to play the Spurs way.

Part of being a Spurs fan is demanding the impossible: a team that spends the entire game attacking the opposition, but being defensively strong enough to make certain that we score more than them.

Fair enough, and I understand that.

Depends whether you want relative success though, or turn out like West Ham :bandit:

More evidence today that Liverpool were not a one man team last season.

    Absolutely not.

How could anyone suggest it? <doh>

Also missing 20 odd goals from Sturridge too.

The other guys are also just not performing.

Skrts and Mignolet's form has just fallen off a cliff, Johnson has got worse and Coutinho + Sterling haven't reached the performances of last year.

We cant score and its putting everyone else under immense pressure.
