Which is counter-productive in that it merely exacerbates the problem. Rather than helping to eradicate misplaced passes, etc, it makes them much more likely.

At least KIO will be able to post another one of his little winky faces as he smugly tells us "told you so"

I would love to think that the home crowd could at least give 15-20 minutes of plain support before deciding that they haven't turned up again and turning on them. Ideally the full 90, but this I fear is the cusp of Adams problem now, the crowd is all but lost and more than ever needs inspiration from the team to have a chance of a non-poisonous atmosphere. The team look a long way from inspirational!

    Bah!

to be honest, i was very surprised by how good the crowd were on saturday. yes it turned ugly at the end but during the game (bar the ruddy incident and boos when grabban came on) we heard worse whilst hughton was in charge and it was definitely nothing like the days under roeder. its completely counterproductive to put that kind of pressure and atmosphere on our own players but i agree with others, i think they'll get 15-20 minutes at the start of the huddersfield game (assuming adams survives that long) and if the crowd don't like what they see they'll tell them. patience amongst fans appears at an all time low and with season ticket renewals just around the corner, the board, unlike last season, will act this time around - and the fans know it.

Look here Mr Tony_Munky_Canary I've just about had enough of your snide remarks, I've already told you that the post you're refering to was taken out of context. I ignored the fact that you inferred that I was 'ignorant' on the other thread simply because my political views differ from yours, when I say 'the knives will be out' at the Huddersfield game I'm only telling it like it is. Rightly or wrongly, you know damn well that the crowd will soon turn especially if we concede first.

I have this horrible feeling of the inevitable and it is a deja vu of the last term of the Hughton reign. First the grumblings then the crowd slowly turning and then the ebbing of tangible support on this site. The same 606 members are leading the campaign once again and a similar grouping are on the back foot trying to defend the position and add some rationality to the argument, I just hope that NA and MP manage to change the ending and find a U-Turn to reverse the tide but I feel that it needs to happen this month otherwise it will be lost.

Rationality is all about perspective, I think those of us who wanted Hootun out before last season, look more rational than those defending him, certainly in retrospect. It could very easily be the same here with NA. I'm not for one second saying that makes Carrbuh the most rational Canary alive as he was outspokenly critical from minute one of CH and NA reigns, but he may be a little more perceptive than those he would perceive as blindly faithful. Rational kind of went out the window with him with his recent nonsense about Delia in my humble opinion.

the big difference between hughton and adams, other than the fact the standard of opposition were poles apart, is that hughton did at least have a plan. ok, it wasn't a fun plan with bells and whistles but at least it was a plan - sometimes it worked well, sometimes it fell apart spectacularly. we all grew tired of it in the end and he would have left regardless of how the season eventually panned out, but adams has no plan. its literally 'throw the players on the pitch and hope for the best'. i don't think anyone can defend what we're seeing. it was like that when we were winning games and its still like that.

I take on board your point GM and you are right in that my post read like the defenders of CH and now NA were or are taking the higher moral ground and of course it is all about opinions and all should be equal. I guess what I was trying to say was that it is perhaps too easy to say sack the manager as if success would thereby become automatic and sometimes taking the tougher choice may be for the best in the longer run. Of course SAF is the best example but currently one could say what Pardew has done in the last couple of months at Newcastle shows what can be done and what is possible. Basically for all our sakes, NA has to be seen to be turning our ship around very soon and I guess we can all agree on that.

I cannot attend games and so my comments come from reading and listening to whatever, wherever I can and must therefore be judged as secondary to the main participants to the thread. That said, my understanding of the situation is exactly as you have said Supers and while CH had his detractors for a long time last season, what he achieved for the club should not be under-estimated. He very nearly kept us up in the Premier League with a group of players that probably were rated in the bottom 3 as a whole and would have achieved that had it not been for the 'ridiculous' run of results from Sunderland. Yes, I appreciate that there was well founded criticism in the style of play and that we stuggled badly to score but when you look at this season and where we should be compared with where we are and where we look to be going we have effectively fallen off a cliff. NA's gin-ho approach looks to be a one trick pony and has been rumbled. Plan B and others need to be actioned very soon and I guess there are questions as to whether he has the potential to find those solutions. Time will tell but the clock looks to be ticking.

Well it's been four games now, a draw a defeat and two wins, well done to Neyul and new first team coach Mike Phelan.
Has the corner finally been turned ? Only time will tell but let's hope so and give credit where credit is due.

Never fear SN, I've already drafted next week's thread. I must admit however that there's a pretty good chance my good results record will come to an end considering the opposition and venue :emoticon-0107-sweat

Has he had long enough yet, or should we perhaps give him just a little bit longer?

I was wondering how long it would take before someone would revisit this thread - I think I'm probably going to say that we give him to the end of the season at least.

Some will say it's down to Phelan, but the players now seem to believe in themselves and with a fairly settled starting 11, they are playing well together and are beginning to look like a team. <ok>
