How would you like the banner fund collection handled?

  • Just as a not606 banner

  • With CTWD assistance

  • Other

What assistance will CTWD provide? If it's minimal, what's the point? I feel it would cause more problems than benefits.

I think (but don't know) that CTWD have the email and donation systems in place.

It looks to me that some want it not606 only, some are easy, and nobody is adamant that CTWD are directly involved.

I reckon we go for it as a board banner.

I'll contact the club tomorrow and ask their views. I'll then dig out some companies and ask for quotes and ask OLM to set up the donation account.

If anyone has any knowledge and experience of these things, shout out, especially if there are pitfalls to be avoided.

Once that's done, we'd need to decide how we'd like it to be displayed.

Any thoughts/preferences on any of that?

It seems popular. Assuming we get approval from the club, there's always the option of more, either along with or after this one, especially as we'll learn from the process. <ok>

I'm sure James will be happy to help.

I'm equally sure that Mick will be happy for us to do what we like.

There are ground regs in the stands(exiled is an expert in this area, he knows the limits on all flags, at all grounds, off the top of his head), but outside of the stands it's down to the club, so potentially we could have something as big as we like if it's right at the front of the stand or on the edge of the pitch.

Personally i think it should be before kick off to avoid any fans moaning about not been able to see. But i also think it shouldn't be to early as we want it to show our support for Bruce and to get the atmosphere going. Maybe pass it around as they did in the play off games a while back with those flags of the badge?

CTWD get big discounts on flags, again exiled is the man to sort it.

If it's being proposed as a board flag, it should be exclusively as a board flag.

It's a really good idea, that allows integration and a presence. Keep it up <cheers>

I wonder what the practicalities of raising one at the back of the south stand would be? I'm thinking the areas at the back, toward the middle but over the concourse like the skybox is.

In fact, for none sky games, I wonder if we could drape it on that?

I think the logistics can be sorted with James on Tuesday, I'm happy to raise it.

I'm against it being any particular group's flag really. CTWD can undoubtedly help as can the sheer size of this board, but it should just be a Hull City fans' thing open to anyone, with help and donations accepted from anywhere.

Additionally, I'd be happy to see the names of groups or individuals who've donated written on it, a bit like how the CTWD flag is signed with names but it shouldn't be specific to any one group.

Of course you are.

I can't see how CTWD can make a donation to it, without canvassing their members.

The idea was from this forum and whilst I agree that any individual should be able to make donations, groups have their own banners/flags.

I really do not want to see this being yet another thing being taken over by CTWD and seeing them use it for their own purposes.

Just to reiterate, this is nothing to do with CTWD the organisation, and I for one do not want their chairman involved in the design or wording on it, for obvious reasons.

If CTWD want a banner Im sure they can arrange that themselves.

If Allam panics in January and sacks Bruce then after that any wielding "In Bruce we trust" will be perceived as an attack on Allam, by him anyway. Face it if City keep losing, trust will drop off the scale.

How about, "In Bruce we trust, for now"

I'm pretty sure it was Dutch's suggestion originally and he's raised it elsewhere as well as on here.

But I'm not interested in petty arguments about who came up with it. It should be a Hull City fans thing for anyone to be involved with. Unless you hate CTWD already, there's no reason to be against them or any other group or individual helping out. The more people behind it the more powerful it can be.

Do you realise how boring your utter drivel about CTWD is ? You are obsessed with them

Maulled1904 has done a mock up of a suggested banner.

Personally, accepting there'll be a couple of tweaks depending on the banner size, I reckon it's **** on. <ok>

Superb.

Just not sure it needs "not606" or "CTWD" or anything else writing on it, tbh though.

Haven't seen the design cos I'm on my phone. I think of course it doesn't need any name on it but it would look good to put names of groups or individuals behind it.

And I bet some people on here who wish to ally themselves with this banner have recently on here criticised Bruce's tactics, or his formations, or his summer signings, substitutions, etc, etc.

Absolutely, first and foremost it's a Hull City banner that will have been bought and created by Hull City fans as a gesture of support to the club and the manager. <ok>
