Martin comes across as a communicator but I don't see it happen enough on the pitch, I've seen games where we've been destroyed and he didn't even say a single word to the rest of the back line, players need a captain who encourages and supports them. I don't think we've had a leader in the team since Holt left.

Sorry, my poor wording. I meant last season and this one. No it's not finished and there is time to turn it around but, based on what we've seen so far, I'll stick with the word dismal <ok>

I don't think Russ Martin is being scapegoated at all. Even the few negative comments have mostly taken issue with him being played as a CB. Im not scapegoating him either. I'd just like to see what a squad built around, and lead by, fresh faces could do.

Just to be clear (which doesn't seem to be possible for me today!) I meant the season was dismal, not Martin's individual contribution to those seasons.

That's what I mean when I say the entire thing is a balls up. Where do we go from here?

Who says Phelan would make a good manager when all he has ever been is a coach/number 2? The board have totally fumbled this like a blind man at a orgy.

So we give Phelan a go and hope that it turns out, what if that doesn't? WE NEED A BLOODY MANAGER, NOT ANOTHER COACH.

Everyone can see it! Our first season in championship where we have had the best chance to go straight back up has been totally miss managed at board level.

That "performance" yesterday was the worst I have seen in years. It reminded me of the bad old times when we went down to league 1. It's so disappointing to see it happens again but all the good feeling and momentum has been sucked out the club.

Oh and as for Ruddy he can **** off with his stupid comment after the game. We rescued his career when he was rotting on the bench at Everton. We have done just as much for him as he has done for us. Fans pay good money to go and watch the team and when you turn in the frankly rubbish performances he has lately you have to take it I'm afraid. FFS GROW A PAIR!

Don't agree with your final paragraph, Kemp.
How can ironically cheering the guy for doing his job help his concentration - or indeed the guys in front of him.
Fiendishly counter-productive behaviour from our so called "fans".

I curse and swear at my PC monitor - but have never done so at a live NCFC match.
Time the 'expectation levels' started matching the performance levels <ok>

In that case I concur. Martin has been dead average this season if you aggregate the decent games he's played at right back and the poor ones he's played at centre back.

Dismal is a very appropriate word to describe how this season is going and in particular the last 10 games. Compared to last season under Hughton things are certainly no better right now - I would say we are worse now because at least we could defend under Hughton. In defence of last season we were one of the weaker teams in the division amongst the likes of Liverpool, City and Everton to name a This season things are different. The team Adams has at his disposal is not significantly weaker than the one Hughton had but the quality of opposition faced by Adams' team is unbelievably lower than the teams we had to play under Hughton. For me that makes the results completely unacceptable and that is why I think Adams has to go.

The players have not played anywhere near to the best of their abilities for Adams. I don't think Adams is the cause of all of our problems. I don't think replacing Adams will make all our problems go away but something has to change.

I am in the 'Adams out' camp, but I have never and will never boo or insult my team after a game. I plan on going to the Huddersfield game and I will support the team regardless of who's in charge or how badly we play because that's my job as a Norwich fan. If players are obliged to play well then why shouldn't fans be obliged to support the team well? The abuse aimed at Ruddy is unacceptable and completely brainless.

Obviously tensions have been brewing at Carrow Road over recent months and after Reading they finally boiled over. The fans want blood but their behaviour has been embarrassing.

Perhaps the problem is that we have too many 'fairweather fans' who've been spoiled under Lambert?

I'm not saying the abuse is right, what I am saying is that as someone who plays professional football you have to take it on the chin.

I can't imagine many lines of work where you have to your job whilst being heckled for it and if you were it certainly would affect your performance. Yes, they earn silly money for what they do but at the end of the day they need our support!

Easily the best defender of this season and in my opinion the best player (admittedly not saying much). For one and a half seasons he has been dragged down by his team mates not closing down and making mistakes.

Not disagreeing with that at all, and I am also a big fan of his and can't understand why he isn't captain (for what it's worth).

Just saying he's not above criticism when it is due, and to say "he's not put a foot wrong" isn't correct as he was as much to blame as anyone on Saturday. Corners should be basic stuff for a player of his size and experience, he got done by a 19 year old twice and I'm sure he'll admit himself he should have done better.

I'm not in any way at all blaming him for our bad run of form, I'm not blaming any one individual, just saying it's not always the fault of whichever player happens to be the 'scapegoat of the month', lots of them have made mistakes that have been punished and cost us, even the ones who have been good 90% of the time.
