So, what's the verdict.Spurs banned?Fences around the pitch? I think those invaders should be put in a corner and beaten up so the baskets don't do it again........but then again, could have been Taliban.......
Why are our corners universally ****, regardless of who takes them, who are manager is or who's in the box?
A convincing win would be nice of course but I can't say I really care what Everton did. They're not in our group and their circumstances are completely different to ours.
For a team that's not playing well and is lacking in confidence, our players don't half try a lot of backheels and flicks, don't they?
Nice save by Lloris, but why didn't anyone get out more quickly to block the ball in the first place? Really half-arsed defending, unsurprisingly.
Well, we're through and we only need a draw out in Istanbul to top the group, but that was another flat performance and our security was made to look silly, too. Not great. Good to see Stambouli opening his account and he had a good second half. Soldado just looks like he's never going to get one.
I care what Everton did because they won more convincingly away than we did at home. Well, that was a frustrating evening, totally not good enough.
I would say 'if he keeps getting in those areas, then eventually he'll score' - but he's been getting in those areas for a year now and is still failing to finish the job. Don't know what we do with him to be honest.
The pitch invasions were a collaboration between a Youtube prank channel called Trollstation and a headphone company called Bassbuds, by the way. Sue the **** out of both of them.
I'd just keep playing him. He seems to have a decent start of a partnership with Kane and he gives us more than Adebayor. I'm more concerned with Paulinho, Dembele and where to play the likes of Lamela and Eriksen. Our balance seems wrong at the start of virtually every game.
0-0 would see Besiktas top, I believe. Another average game with the same problems. Look at the chances we missed again, you can't do that with the way we defend. Equally, the final ball was not there often enough apart from when Lennon cut in off the left. And of course we're conceding chances still too. I actually thought Chiriches and Vertonghen did alright at the back, the trouble is the midfield's still giving them cover and the fullbacks are just as prone to putting them in it. Paulinho was okay;, it was the first time I've seen him winning the ball and generally looked far more enthusiastic. Still missing some quality but there was a glimmer of hope for him. Stambouli was okay too, I think he needs someone like Mason or Bentaleb alongside him, with Dembele and Paulinho in midfield with him, we couldn't have been slower on the turn. Dembele was appalling, we know why he's always passing it backwards and sideways, anything going forward was given straight to the oppostition. Lennon gets his own paragraph. Frankly he was dropped for a reason, too much dawdling and rarely creating anything. Tonight(and against Hull, to be fair) he was like a different player, creating several excellent chances cutting in off the left, it was more like the performance you see from a player in a great run of form than one that's been dropped and hardly had a kick since. I can't get over how good some of his passing was to feed players in the box, it's one of the things we've been missing with all our cutting inside. We still need to mix it up and offer more width at times though.
On way home from the match.... lennon was excellent....created chances and worked tirelessly. ..thought lamela worked hard all game and had a good 2nd half. ..apart from lloris having to make a good save I thought defence were well organised. Too narrow and slow in first half imo. Thought dembele broke up play well but no where near direct enough...have nothing good to say re soldado so am gonna say nothing. .. wtf was going on with pitch invasions?
