He would be good and you're probs right about the age.
That's why I think Lacazette is perfect - young, versatile and his playing style resembles Suarez. Should have got him in the summer before his stock rose.

he may have an attitude problem(true or just an excuse to shift him on?), but if he produces the goods on the pitch who cares, jesus christ we have ballo on the pitch and we know what that fecker is like, so why not give suso a chance?

Suso definitely needs to be given a shot but I don't think we can play him anywhere but in the hole in the a diamond.
Don't like the Icardi rumors but mainly due to the price. Way too much for someone having a first real good season. Seems we have a bad habit of trying to buy someone who is hot in one season and not look at the body of work.
Torres, Suarez, Mascher, Alonso, all had a body of work that told us they would be hits straight away.

Eh...? I thought we were talking pre-Liverpool...? Babel looked phenomenal at Ajax just as much as Suarez, Torres and Alonso did at Ajax, A.Madrid and Sociedad respectively and Sociedad with Argentina (but not West Ham no thanks to Pardew).
Yes we are on the same page. Babel's first season I think he won the young player of the year award with the club and had 10 goals. I remember many didn't like how Benitez wouldn't give him a true run of games which helped lead to his demise a bit. But his first season he was good and that comes from the stable background and not the one off season stuff.

When ever I've seen him he seems like he has a poor first touch and lacks a bit of real intelligence. Looks just like a big bully of a striker, similar to Bony but not quite as good imo. Playing for Porto in Portuguese leage you're bound to score a few goals so hard to really judge.
The likes of Berahino, Martinez, Bony etc. just do not inspire confidence and don't look like signings that could elevate us into a side challenging for anything significant. They might get us back into the top 4 at a push. It feels like the summer transfer dealings & our performances this season have been so bad we have been pushed back to the same position we were when Rodgers took over.
The market is tricky for strikers atm though. There really isnt much alternative.
We may be better of buying one of those guys mention, for as little as possible, and investing in a top playmaker/wide player who scores goals, a positions that is seeing a lot of luxury talent atm.
We can then use Sturridge as the main striker and have the options of Sterling, Coutinho, Lallana, Markovic, Suso, Ibe and this top new signing playing off and around him.
The new striker, and Origi provide us with the option of two strikers if we need it, bench impact and competition with Sturridge, whilst Lambert/Balotelli provide a place B/C alternative option (muscle).
If Schurrle becomes available lets go for a deal with him and try to sign some one like Shakiri. After that we could be a be a world class DM and some returning loanees away from a decent side again.

We can all sit here and say lest go for Schurrle, Shaqiri, etc and play Football Manager but the fact is, its not that simple. I like the suggestion of not going all out for a striker in the current market, they're simply not there at present.
This made me think of when Brod arrived at Liverpool. He kept going on about certain position and coming out with the terms and/or names for them. Things such as the number eight and half role or false striker.
It was the latter I wanted to focus on purely for ironical reasons. He came with this great idea of playing like Barca; flexible possession football with a false number nine coupled with plenty of high line pressing to retain the ball within seven seconds. That was his philosophy, is footprint for success. Luis Suarez fit this perfectly.
In the space of just forty-one days between 11 July to 21 August 2014 (thanks Google & wiki
), we lose Suarez and buy Balotelli. this completely destroys any philosophy he wanted to implement or already installed over the previous two years. Before that, he undermined the regaining possession within seven seconds idea by retaining a misfit in the side; Steven Gerrard.
So, what am I getting at? Brod came to our club with the idea of playing a false number nine and although flirty with the idea at first, he's done everything but play that way. I have zero confidence that he will recognise the lack of strikers available, that he will attempt to get threatening wide players or that he will do anything other than attempt to master yet another approach because he didn't stick it out with the last one.
Rodgers is the ultimate tinker man IMO. Not a tinker man in the way Raneira or Rafa was considered as he rarely changes his players. No, I mean tinker man in that he doesn't know what system or tactics to play and when he isn't working he changes it before giving the players a chance to actually learn and get used to it. There is little wonder we have such a poor defensive record IMO. Since he's been here, we've played 442, 4411, 352, 531, 541, 433, 41212, 4231 and 4141, I'm sure I've missed some off but I think you get the message.
