Shaqiri would improve utd. You can see where van gaal wants to go wih his little project. pity ferguson left so many issues to fix but hey... come 2.5 years i'm sure the next man will have a better situation to go for top 4 in.
I agree. Once LVG looks at improving the defence they will be back challenging IMO. I think they will get fourth this season.
yes they will without question. arsenal v utd is no contest right now and west ham are only there on a wee bit of form. same for newkie. for me southampton are the guys who have done best and one can only hope they stick in there for the long haul so that they get thier just rewards. its be a crying shame if in may arsenal crawl past them into 4th... we won't thats for sure!
I'd love Southampton to get top four but I doubt they will be in there still come the new year, they have a very hard run of fixtures. The only question is, will other teams step up and take advantage?
Marco Reus has torn ligament in his right ankle. His second major injury in a year. He could be a pricey gamble to go for after all.
most of our buys have been that anyway. Lovren,Ballo,Lallana,Markovic!!!!!! at least paying for reus we would actually be signing quality, keeping him fit, well we have that problem anyway, but rather be excited by the eventual return of Reus than i would say ballo or Markovic, knowing we have a game changer to return. we need the feel good factor of certain players you just know can do something back again, yeah he may be a gamble, but one i reckon would be worth taking.
Doubt we'll have much money to spend in Jan (let's say £20m) so what is the best way to spend it: - Kevin Trapp (GK) - €4m buyout clause. One of the best young keepers in the world. - Fabien Scharr (CB) - €10m. Contract almost expired should pick him up cheap. - Yohan Cabaye (CM) - Relatively cheap, not exactly what we need but we need quality. - Kevin Volland/ Abameyang / Lacazette - They'll command fees of around £15m plus which means we will need to sell. Get rid of Lambert and Borini and get one of these strikers in. Players I would sell: - Suso - I like him but he's clearly not going to get a look in and with his contract expiring, need to get around £2-3m in. - Borini - £15m from an Italian club will do nicely. - Lambert - no use for him in any system. - Johnson and Skrtel - massive wages wasted on mediocrity.
you pissed already jimmy rather keep suso if possible, we fecking should be doing what we can to keep him, like to see a future team of him and coutinho, nice players to watch on the ball
Optimistic wasn't it? .. Didn't Sunderland offer something similar in the summer? Hopefully we can get between £10-15m in Jan. I do like Suso but I think there are a lot of players ahead of him at the moment, and there are questions over his attitude.
I reckon we will only sign a striker and a cheap keeper in January. - Footballers rarely get real punishments but could this effect a transfer? I'm certain this is the guy at the top of our wish list. - Dont let Real ruin him!
Oh god, I hope Berahino is not. But I wouldn't be surprised if he was because we just love overspending on British flavours of the month. And we must keep Chirivella - such a talented player who could develop into a top class DM. Fingers crossed.
Assuming you mean affect, I doubt it. We did sign Suarez, Balotelli, Bellamy etc. If you do mean effect, I also doubt it, but I could see us being in for him. If pressed - Berahino or Bony? I'm guessing both would be about 20 million-ish, maybe 25.
We could do with one of them. By the time he breaks through, Gerrard may even have lost his starting position (maybe).
I dont mean affect us chosing him, I mean could any court cases etc delay a move. - I really wanted us to sign Bony in the summer. He is a lot better than Balotelli and worked well against City this weekend.
God know. Neither. Funny thing is, if Rodgers is adamant on playing 1 up top, then Bony is extremely good at that. But then the dynamic of our attack completely changes from last year. God only knows why we can't fast, versatile attackers. Either way - what must happen in January is Rodgers to not have any control over transfers. It's no coincidence that you take away that control (from Jan 13 up until just before the summer) and we saw progress. The 2 windows where Rodgers had more control and we signed Allen, Borini, Lallana, Lovren, and Lambert for a combined fee of £75m. That is disgraceful. £75m for a bunch of mid table players. No wonder we are where we are.
