You didn't sit deep at all at the start of the game, there was massive space inbetween your midfield and your backline which is why we found it so easy to cut through you. Terrible defensive shape.
We couldn't have created more if we tried. Great chances we missed and if we score any of them you lose the game. You got lucky.
And you only had chances on the counter after getting the lucky goal. So yes, after we had royally ****ed up by missing countless chances and then giving you a lucky deflected goal, after we threw caution to the wind to try and get back into the game, then your counter attacking plan was able to work.
It's great that lvg is such a genius that he can see into the future and knows that his team will get battered for half a game with no response but the other team will be off form infront of goal and miss the beautiful chances they had that on any other day would have been scored. It's even better that his master plan included a lucky deflected goal...

Arsene spent a fair bit of money on Chambers and Monreal. Clearly you don't rate them.
As well as McNair and Blackett did yesterday the fact is they are both raw talents and have been promoted to the first team much sooner than expected. Blackett in particular looked shaky in the first half hour but he settled after that. I would still prefer to see Jones, Evans or Rojo alongside Smalling as experience counts for a lot. It would also give me more confidence to see Rafael and Shaw at full back (I know Shaw started but he lasted 16 minutes) rather than two wingers in Valencia and Young as neither can defend really. So basically in our back 5 yesterday we had one player who would be in the manager's preferred line up. The other four were made up of youth team players and midfielders. Understand fella?
All in all, given the options available LVG and the team did well to stay in the game and then win it.
Monreal was brought in as a back-up LB. He is not a CB by any stretch of the imagination. No-one rates him in that position. I doubt even wenger does! But we are very short on defensive options.
And Chambers I rate very highly but he is a raw talent and needs eerie nice to grow as a player. He is still a youth.
Nothing to do with how much I rate them, think it's pretty clear that our defense wasn't up to full strength lol
I'd have liked to see ozil, Walcott, debuchy and koscielny start the game but injuries happen. We get no leeway when every single season we have the worst injury record in the league. When we get beat people tell us it's a squad game and the others should be able to step in etc....

Stop with this twenty minute nonsense. Did you watch the game? The entire first half bar a few minutes at the end was arsenal all over utd. The ref made a couple of bad calls to give you a few corners in a row which you did nothing from. Other than that the entire first half was arsenal bullying utd. Not some imaginary twenty minutes, the whole half bar a few minutes.
In the second half we dominated you for the majority of it as well, you managed to get a few crap opportunities and then the lucky goal changed the whole thing.
You didn't suss ****. Right up until the end of the game we bombarded your goal. You got lucky. That's it.
After twenty mins it calmed down. We had a few touches ad knocked a few passes about. The first twenty was one way traffic.

To be fair you've been gracious in victory and accepted that it was a scraped lucky win rather than some master class. I get you being happy at the win, I'm over the moon even when we scrape a win against some relegation team lol. It's uir that grates with his constant deluded insistence that it was an LVG master plan perfectly executed, rather than a flukey goal changing the game and being lucky not to be losing well before then.

37 minutes. That is the point utd woke up and realised they were playing a football game. None of this twenty minute crap. I picked up on this in the game thread, read back and find it if you like. And then at half time the pundit and commentary team picked the exact same number I'd already gone for, 37 minutes, before utd did a thing other than get bullied.
Also we were not gung-ho at all in the first half, we always left back sufficient cover which is why you did **** all in the first half other than look like school kids against a real team. We only threw the kitchen sink at you when we had gone a goal down. Of course that was going to give you chances on the break.
That isn't some masterful tactics, that's you getting a lucky goal and hanging on and hoping for a chance on the counter. Literally every single team in the world out in the same position would have the same opportunities...
