The great thing for Mitchell is that this is a long term project...when you are a player you can be called a failure after two games or before you even play in some cases.
I am sure Levy is already weighing up the possibility of replacing himself with the man formerly ranked No1 in our backroom staff. He may be Spurs only chance of EVER becoming regular top 4 material and only costs £2m a year.
Spurs have very much become an embarrassment thinking that this Paul Mitchell is the only person to deal with transfers......get a grip Levy you fool
Oh and for what it's worth I'm glad he's gone....wonder how long it will be before he realises he's made a mistake
I doubt he will regret it...he has a good job and will move on from there at due course. The important thing is that we move on from here. I reckon the timing was interesting...bet this had all been sorted out a while ago, but he wanted to stay here for our launch.
Totally agree with your first paragraph, but not so much the second - this reeks of Levy looking at the table and trying to look like he's "doing something". Indeed, the exact timing is probably because Mitchell has something in his contract about not joining another team before the transfer window*. I suspect his notice period is Two or three months & he'll be on "gardening leave" until after the transfer window before he can join them. So it's probable that this is the earliest he was able to hand his notice in as contracted. All just speculation, of course. *We'd be insane not to have inserted a clause similar to this into his contract.
There's an audio article featuring Matty on talkSport. The presenter suggested, this is another major blow to the club, isn't it Matt..? And Matty said (after a long pause)... Err... no, not really. Priceless..! The rest of the explanation is on NewsNow.
http://www.espnfc.co.uk/barclays-pr...-are-trying-to-snatch-the-saints-best-players Koeman says it is compliment that Spurs are trying to buy our players and backroom staff...suggesting we have a better structure. Near the end of the article...he says the final decision is with the club as they agreed to let Mitchell leave and he will be replaced with a better person. Sounds like Saints could have blocked it but decided not to...probably best as you don't want someone whose heart isn't in it....unless your name is Morgan
They've got their story and they are sticking to it. If a season ticket holder doesn't renew because of the price hikes it was the club's decision and they will replace him/her with a better season ticket holder
I wonder who they replaced me with this season as I didn't renew. I wonder if our leavers feel the same sense of regret I do that that they couldn't afford to stay.
