I see that his return was in a win against Fulham. I guess after forty two years, my memory is playing tricks. I was at college in Chesterfield at the time and went with my Owl supporting girlfriend. We went to her house after the game and her dad asked how things had turned out. I said I wondered how much Swan had paid the ref to send Pearson off. I don't think he spoke to me again. The goals are on YouTube.
Was he from Cottingham ? I have a vague memory of his family drinking in the Black Prince, i would have been on the wall outside with a bottle of coke and bag of crisps waiting for me dad.
Harry Karen seems to be doing well at Reading - 19 yes old and recently called up to Scotland U21s. Left our youth set - up last year to sign a pro contract at Reading.
Carl Stead. Plymouth, Scarborough and Donny in the early 90's. Only played a handful of games though. Best larker I have ever played with. He should have gone onto bigger and better things and he knows it. Great lad and a good mate of mine.
Trying to think of the name of that player who I believe was Hull born who spent time in prison, bit of a loose cannon, played lower leagues mostly. Think he had a spell at Doncaster , cant think of his name for the life of me . Just came to me, Mick Norbury but he wasn't from Hull !. Something made me believe he was , oh well lol
Possibly, his brother lived on Ancaster ave. When i was lad me and me mates would play footy in the tenfoot that was between Ancaster Ave and Bricknell Ave, on one occasion the pair of them had a kick about with us (at the time we didnt really comprehend who had just graced our tenfoot footy pitch!)
The two I can think of off the top of my head are ex-Grimsby stalwart Mark Lever and lower league journeyman Darryn Stamp.
