I think maybe Smirnoff was saying that the requirements for keeping hold of 4th place have gone up, and as Arsenals revenue and infrastructure has improved, the requirements for achieving 4th have gone up with it? Maybe.....I think.
Which is fair to a degree, Chelsea and City changed the PL landscape in that United were the only team you had to feasibly compete with every season before we were infused with Roman's money.
But Cini's rather simple point is that Arsenal are spending more and more every year, to achieve the same result (4th place, one trophy every decade), and surely if the level of investment and quality of players increases, should it not be reasonable to expect improved results and performances on the pitch as a result of this?
And he is questioning why you were spending more to achieve the same, which is an equally fair and legitimate question.
To which there is one answer, an answer best left unsaid as to not provoke or annoy certain people on here.
