Anybody going?

For those like me who are losing interest in the national team by the day, has this come at the right time and will it get you excited at all?

For me, no, I'm not bothered. The bragging rights were great in the forces, as there was loads of them to dish it out to. Not so many in my current circle of friends.

Last time we went north of the border, Scholes made 'Hampden Roar'.

I really couldn't give a flying fook. I know that may seem bad, unpatriotic etc. but I just cannot get excited about England football team, nor this game.

In a small way I want the scots to win just to rock the entire system

Obviously want England to do well, but lost all faith in Roy Hodgson with his team selections and by extension think the FA are ****ers

I had the match on in the background last game, I was barely watching it but it just seemed so flat and uninspiring.

Then the commentator said "Rooney said Hodgson is the best manager he's worked under for England", at that point I lost all hope for the national team.

I'm only watching this game tonight if there's nothing at all on that I'm more interested in watching.

I am not interested in the national team at all but England v Scotland is a special fixture.

I wish they would bring back the Home International competition instead of pointless FIFA driven friendlies to curry favours during Blatters election campaigns.

If the FA want to make a stand against FIFA, refuse to play in their friendlies and arrange an FA sponsored tournament such as Home Internationals. <ok>

I'm looking forward to it, I'm still a diehard England fan, not sure if we will win tonight though, Scotland are in a good run of form of late.

Not fussed but expect a Scotland win! They'll be up for it throwing in tackles whilst our players will be poncing about hoping not to get injured!

I don't give a toss about England these days. But losing to the jocks is a step to far, so I'll be hoping we beat them bastards tonight!

That's one way to generate interest in the national team then, I'd like to see more of that for sure. The problem with that is that domestically, the FA appear just as bad as Fifa do on the world stage, I wouldn't imagine the FA doing anything for the fans.

Well there's still love afterall, good for you guys. <ok>

What about the jocks are they as fired up as ever for the game? I'd imagine they care more than the English.

I think terry sums it up nicely here :

Whilst it may be stretching it to say that Terry Butcher has a foot in both camps ahead of Tuesday’s match in Glasgow, he’s certainly well-placed to know what lies in store for the Three Lions.

The former England captain has spent a large chunk of his career north of the border, including four years as a player for Rangers and spells as assistant coach for Scotland as well as managing Motherwell, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Hibernian.

And Butcher has warned Roy Hodgson’s men that they will face a predictably raucous reception at Celtic Park when they go toe-to-toe with the ‘Auld Enemy’, but it’s an atmosphere which they should also be relishing.

"It will be hostile, noisy and everything that you want to have as a player because it will certainly test you as a character," Butcher told TheFA.com.

"It will test your ability and your bottle on the day, because Scotland will want to win that match.

"They came pretty close to doing just that during England’s 3-2 win at Wembley last year.

"That was a competitive game, which took Rickie Lambert to come on and score the winner."

The former Ipswich Town, Coventry City and Sunderland defender won 77 caps during his playing days and was famed for his fearless approach to defending.

It was perhaps best summed up during the vital 1989 World Cup qualifier with Sweden when he played on with stitches in a wound to his forehead.

And he’s hoping that England can show similar strength of character and attitude on Tuesday to save some pride for Butcher when he’s next in Scotland.

"It’s not like an international match in terms of playing against someone you don’t know as much about," he claimed.

"You will know about Scotland and it’s about bragging rights, pride and more importantly, it’s about winning.

"And I hope England win because one day I might have to go back up there!"

England go into the game in Glasgow in good spirits, after securing their fifth successive win in their Euro Qualifiers against Slovenia at the weekend.

I'll be watching it. Hoping they kick each other off the pitch to be honest. I want a volatile derby to reward my attention.

I always want England to win. Not overly fussed if they get beat, but I always want them to do well.
