So Roy has named his squad to face Slovenia and Scotland.

Gks:
Hart
Forster
Foster

Defenders:
Baines
Shaw
Gibbs
Clyne
Chambers
Cahill
Jagielka
Smalling

Midfielders:
Barkley
Carrick
Downing
Henderson
Lallana
Milner
Oxlade- Chamberlain
Sterling
Townsend
Walcott
Wilshere

Forwards:
Rooney
Lambert
Berahino
Welbeck

(Think that is everyone)

I see Roy has his faves again, choosing players that have hardly played and 3 lbs?

Still a huge Rickie fan but never picked him when he was scoring now he's not even playing and ............

So 8 players are presently at Southampton or who owe their development to Southampton (including SRL as he owes everything to Saints :))...not bad for one of the smaller clubs and I believe it will get even better. If Clyne doesn't get a cap this time, we should track Hodgson down like a dog.

Care to explain your last selection, then Roy?

Roy Hodgson on Saido Berahino's chances of playing: "When you call players up, you call them up to play.

For years, I championed the selection of Michael Carrick above Lampard or Gerrard; at his peak he was better than both of those. Now he is what, 33, played one game this season and he is brought back in? I don't get you Roy, I really don't.

I also like how Shaw and Gibbs get in before Bertrand...

Yet Cork has had a great season to date, yet can't get a look in.

need more centre back cover. everyone has to play centre back!

I'm really sorry but I won't be at all upset if none of our players get called up for England duty, and if those that do get a cosy 90 mins on the bench then so be it. Let t**tbeard play and injure his knee again.
If Woy (and let's face it every England manager for years now) does not need to look at the league table to pick his players, then we will not have our players ruined by the experience of playing for England.
I wish it was different, but it is what it is.

My team
Same GK's

Defenders: Bertrand in for Shaw. Cresswell for Baines, Wisdom for Smalling, Shawcross for Gibbs.
Midfielders: Cork for Carrick, Dyer for Townsend, Noble for Milner.
Forwards: Austin for Lambert.

Surely, Cork is better than at least one of those midfielders. However, for once I can actually understand him not being selected. I don't think he's played as well as last year, despite the goals. Also, of course he is not even the first choice with Saints. So, given that Hodgson attends matches but clearly doesn't actually see anything, he's never going to pick him.

If Hodgson actually took note of what he was watching, how can you explain Smalling but no Bertrand.
