Hello, i cannot remember if it was on here or on SWF but there were some people grumbling about the new kit and the sizing of the new style of shirt. My wife is getting me one ,as she always does and seeing as it is going to be traveling across the atlantic i do not want her to waste her money on a shirt that does not fit properly. The kit from last year ,the red adidas abomination ,i took an XL and it fit quite nicely...could i have some advice please. I am average build around 6' 1" and 205 lbs if this helps....thanks in advance for any advice given and go easy on the fat jokes... cheers. Trini Saint.
String Saint...I am not far short of your size (44"chest/36" waste and 6'1") and have a very fitted XXXL
The trouble is that SFC think fans are all like the players who appear to wear their flesh under their bones.
I'm 6ft 3-4 and have an XXXL. I normally have to get an XL. The body fits fine, length-wise - but the sleeves are absurd and cover my elbows in part.
well ,the 205 lbs is not as athletically distributed as it was a decade ago... trini saint... will i be fine with an XL again??
6'1" and 205lbs [14st 6.5lbs] is not postively skinny. I am 6ft tall and 13st 4lbs and I could probably lose a stone in weight with good effect. Unless he's a body builder, 205lbs is a bit on the blubbery side. Of course, stripes are sooooo slimming
And they don't play in tents these days. The shirts are very close fitting. For example, find a picture of Gareth Bale in a Saints shirt and compare to any photo of the present players in kit. Gareth is wearing yards of material.
I'm 6'4' and have a XXXL too, and that is still very tight. The tight fitting is really for the players only. I don't mind wearing a tight shirt, if we keep winning in it.
I normally get a large to fit around my hips/boobs and I like a loose fit but they are ridiculous this year. I lost some weight and I can just about get away with an XL!! huge around the shoulders and waist and tight on the hips. when will they start selling shirts fitted for ladies???
Ah well, there's a bit of muscle there then. I would have thought you were used to tight fitting shirts in Rugby.
I think most people have gone at least 1 size up and in most cases (mine included) 2 sizes! The club must have done loads of exchanges for size and then most others for the poor quality of some of the early batches
