So I messaged that girl to arrange a specific day to go for drinks and she didn't reply which would imply a sort of 'thanks but no thanks'. I knew I shouldn't have posted about it until an actual concrete date had been arranged. #epicfail

I'm not sure I'm keen on the idea of asking a girl out via online message.

I asked her out in person, and she said yes so I said I'd Facebook her to arrange the details.

Advice: keep it in person. Doing details by Facebook or other electronic method loses personality. Every personal contact is another chance for her to get to know you; not a computer.

Remember this when you work too.

Just had a call from the Technical Department of Windows...naturally I just hung up, because 1) didn't believe it and 2) I always hang up on anyone from the subcontinent. What I want to know is, could it ever be genuine and how would you know?

Should have sorted the details then and there. She says yes, you say, 'How about Friday?' Minutes to sort and doesn't give her time to change her mind.

Yeah, it's better to keep it casual as well. Messaging her to confirm a time and place is a little too...well...courtshippy. I'm interested in a girl at work at the moment and it seems like the feeling might be mutual, so I just casually ask her if she fancies a drink after work. Just a pint on the way home. Time to get to know each other a bit without making it feel like this big arranged thing.

Nope you should arrange a time, day, location, what you will wear, what she will wear and what you and her will drink and eat. Saves the hassle. :p

And give her a form with tick boxes so she can suggest topics of conversation in advance. Saves all those embarrassing silences.
