Begin the first movement in output for the team. According to today's edition of Il Messaggero, the goalkeeper Doni would find an agreement in principle with Liverpool. The Roma will provide severance pay of about 1.5 million.

So we pay them whatever they want (I thought it was £1m) and then Roma are paying the player £1.5m severance... How much was he on and how much of his contract did he have left and why on earth are we still chasing a 31 year old sub goalie who looks likea complete merc?

Rumour is that we have made an initial enquiry to the French club Caen regarding M'Baye Niang. He is a 16 year-old striker who scored 3 goals in 7 games to help Caen finish 15th in Ligue 1. His goals were crucial in saving Caen from relegation and is very highly regarded player. He has also been very heavily linked with Spurs in the past couple of days but no bid has been put in for the player.

For a back up GK it's either a inexperienced youngster or a 'merc'. No goalkeepers of quality in their mid 20s will want to join a club just to have a couple of apps a season, if that. At 31 he's still got a few years left in him, he's got CL experience and he won't be complaining too much about warming the bench.
No club in the PL bar Man City have an excellent back up. Many are just good enough to shoe in for a match or two.

From the BBC website today.

Liverpool will offer midfielder Alberto Aquilani as bait to tempt Tottenham into selling winger Aaron Lennon.

The Reds have also renewed their interest in Newcastle United left-back Jose Enrique after failing to capture Gael Clichy from Arsenal, with the Frenchman opting for Manchester City.

Aston Villa and Fulham both now keen on David Ngog according to French media as his move to Sunderland looks to have faltered. Could he be used as a pawn in the Stewart Downing deal?

I think nobody has a clue whats going on with anything and the sooner some preseaosn football gets underway the better cos it'll give us some insight into kennys preparations for next year.

I think the rumour that offers aquilani to spurs is tantamount ot a macn having a laugh.

aquilani to spurs, modric to utd into that one.

Nah I can't see Modric going to Man Ure.Spurs won't take Berbatov or Carrick in part exchange.I reckon he's going to Chelsea,Man United will then put in a bid for Fat Frank,He'll be the replacement for Giggs, who has to retire in November anyway,as he's facing 7 years in prison for telling the courts porkies aka purjery.

Twitter is reporting that Serbian press is reportnig (I know thats like hearing something from your mums sisters dog's uncle who writes for caughtoffside but its not even on their site yet) that Milan Jovanovic has been released from Liverpool FC WITHOUT compensation

I find that hard to believe

His a short lad.

Edit -

Reported Liverpol target Gael Clichy has completed his move to Manchester City following passing a medical and agreeing personal terms at the City of Manchester Stadium on Monday. The deal is thought to be worth in the region of £7million with Arsenal forced to cash in on him as he entered the final year of his contract.

Tevez: Keen to leave Manchester City for family reasons but hopes fans understand

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has declared that he wants to leave the club this summer but has asked for the fans' understanding.

The Argentina international submitted a transfer request in December, before quickly performing a dramatic U-turn and pledging his commitment to the club following clear-the-air talks.

His long-term future remained the subject of intense speculation but manager Roberto Mancini always expressed confidence that he would stay.

Mancini stated over the weekend that he planned to keep Tevez after a proposed swap deal with Inter Milan for Samuel Eto'o fell through.

City's FA Cup success and UEFA Champions League qualification also appeared to boost their chances of holding on to the 27-year-old, but the reasons for his decision are more personal.

Tevez has never made a secret of the fact that he misses his children, who have been living with their mother back in Argentina, and he wants to put their interests first.

The news that he is again seeking a departure will come as a major blow to City, considering the impact he has made since controversially joining from local rivals Manchester United in 2009.

Tevez's announcement comes on the same day that City made their first signing of the summer, bringing in Gael Clichy from Arsenal.

But Tevez, who has scored 53 goals in 86 appearances for City, has seemingly left no room for manoeuvre by expanding on his thoughts.

He wishes the club well and has enjoyed being part of their success, but does not feel he can carry on with his family circumstances the way they are.

"It is with great regret that I have to inform Manchester City of my wish to leave the club," he said in a statement.

"I would like to state that I have great respect for the club, its supporters and the owner, Sheikh Mansour, who has been nothing other than respectful to me.

Challenging

"I hope that the people understand the difficult circumstances I have been living under the past 12 months, in regards to my family.

"Living without my children in Manchester has been incredibly challenging for me.

"Everything I do, I do for my daughters, Katie and Florencia. I need to be closer to them and to spend more time with them.

"I need them to be happy because my life is about them now. I need to be in a place where they can adapt.

"Being captain of Manchester City, qualifying for the Champions League, winning the FA Cup and finishing as top-scorer last season has made me very proud.

"I hope that most of the City fans will understand that I have given them my all on the pitch and that my dedication to the City cause has been 100% on the pitch.

"I hope I have done my bit to help City continue their progress towards their ambition to be champions of England and to advance in the Champions League.

"I have no doubt that the players and management of City will achieve great success in the future."

Manchester City have yet to respond to the statement and attempts to speak with Tevez will be complicated due to his present commitment to Argentina at the Copa America.

Apparently with regards to possible centre back targets,Liverpool have targetted Dejan Lovren of Lyon. He's 21 and he's Serbian and could be available for £6 million.
They are also rumoured to be chasing Aaron Lennon, with either Alberto Aquilani or Joe Cole going in the opposite direction.Other news is that Stewart Downing is to hand in a transfer request at Aston Villa to seal a move to Liverpool(His supposed preferred destination)He's from the North East(So He wouldn't go to London). He would be closer to home if he joined Liverpool. If Aston Villa want Ngog, maybe that could be done in part-exchange.

Liverpool have reportedly made a bid for Spanish winger Santi Cazorla. Would be a player that fits the bill - i.e. a winger - but you have to wonder if Kenny can get the best out of him?

From soccernet.com, first off, can Kenny get the best out of him? eh? what is this guy on?

Secondly, I think this could be the best option in terms of wingers as I believe he would be cheaper than mata, has a bit more steel about him, is very under the radar ( not sure why), and I think can make more of an impact straight away.

I really rate him, hope this is true, but then again we had 66 players linked in June alone.

Liverpool are attempting to snap up Savic from under the noses of Citeh.
Alexander Doni's move to Liverpool should be finalised by thursday.
Stewart Downing is expected to hand a transfer request at Aston Villa, and despite Arsenals interest will claim his only destination is Anfield.
