I'm well pleased with the result. The performance was pretty poor, but I've said it plenty of times before, I'd rather play **** and win than play brilliantly and lose.

There's a certain satisfaction in scraping a win in the manner that we did. 3 points are 3 points whether you win 6-0 or 2-1

Dangerous mindset, results orientated papers over the cracks and is the exception to the norm. Arguably this won't even raise morale/confidence since we were expected to do so much better and we still got bashed by the media for our preformance (probably rightfully). We are the definition of a flat track bully.

Sometimes a win is a win and yesterday was that, 3 points in the bag. The positives is that we got the 3 and look like certs to reach the next round, Sanchez played great and miraculously got us the win and the Pod scored. However, negatives far out-way the positives, so I won't bother going into that for the time being. We will come to that sooner or later.

A win is a win indeed, but some people need to take a look at the big picture, we are no where near the other top sides in this competition so let's not kid ourselves with this win, if we were up against any top side yesterday we would have had our asses handed to us in a similar fashion to Liverpool, and heck in a similar fashion to what Dortmund did to us. Yesterday's win is the epitome of papering over the cracks, I seriously don't see how anyone can look at yesterday's win and performance and have any confidence of achieving something in this tournament, we are miles off away from doing so.

Wenger is doing the same mistake he did 2 seasons ago in the 2013 season, playing players who just aren't doing it on the pitch, in that season I remember it was the likes of Ramsey-Vermaelen and some others, as soon as Wenger dropped them and changed it a little by playing other players like Rosicky-OXO we had a change in form.

The same crap is happening now again, he persists with Wilshere who is rubbish at the moment, before that he persisted with playing Ozil out wide who was also rubbish there, things could potentially pick up if he starts dropping the out of form players.

Lol didn't know that, but to be honest a lot of us fans are thinking the same thing so that's why, it was quite interesting because a lot of fans like me yesterday didn't really know how to feel with that win yesterday, it was very strange. Some will say it's because we have become so negative we can't enjoy a win, which isn't the case at all, I mean if we won in such a manner in the EPL I believe I would have been far more happier with obvious concerns....But as this is in Europe, you just look at our squad, and the way we play and you just have to admit that we're miles away from being able to compete with the big boys of this competition. Against any better side yesterday and it would have been a repeat of Dortmund, had Anderlecht been more clinical as well they could have went 2-0 up and killed the game.

We won yesterday indeed, but all the same problems reared their ugly heads, piss poor defending, slow play, lack of ideas in attack, players who still can't find their proper form and some who most likely never will as they are past it (Flamini).

Oh yeah Flamini was dreadful and was lucky to get away on a few occasions. This just shows how we miss a quality DM type player or even Arteta.

To be honest, this negative sentiment cannot be helped, Wenger brought so much success and great footballing entertainment to us that for being in a lesser position for so long has made many of us disillusioned. In a way he has been a victim of his own success and the expectations on him are realistically too high.

People in the past have said: what the point of playing beautiful football if there's no end product ? it's winning that counts.

So you have to take the rough with the smooth and be grateful for the result, a win is a win. It doesn't hide the poor performance, nobody is saying that, but if you flag up that winning is the most important thing, then you can't really then say the result isn't as important as the performance.

For me , the football is the thing that takes priority .

You can get lucky in a hundred games and win em , but one day the luck will run out.

One thing struck me yesterday as i was watching .
And i think Merson even alluded to it ,

The players seemed to be just waiting for something to happen .
Each one waiting for someone else to create some piece of something special.

They dont seem to realise that its them that have to do it.

Dont just wait for it to happen , make it happen , or at least try.

Seemed like only Sanchez/Oxo/Gibbs , really shook the tree at all.

The others just sat and waited for the fruit to fall.

Sorry, been a voyeur on here for a number of years and usually find the infighting between you quite hilarious in how it reaches a fever pitch within seconds. I happen to agree with your sentiments 87 that Wenger has gone well past his sell past date and that whilst he remains you will never challenge for PL or CL.
I will not go on further with the ailments of AFC as you have all managed to do that to death, however what I feel most compelled to comment on is your apparent approval of Arsenal fans physically fighting with each other. I'm afraid to say that to witness that, is a most horrible vicious scene which evokes some kind of thoughts towards cannibalism or family and friends fighting.
I'm sure you do not wish to appear to be even condoning this so implore you to re-write and apologise for the misunderstanding, if not, I wish the wrath of all Gooners to be on you and remain on you.

Wenger and the board only have themselves to blame for the discontent amongst many fans, many of us have grown tired of the rubbish we are seeing, yes there are some who are satisfied with the bare minimum of achieving 4th spot and talking about how good our finances are, while also constantly beating the same drum about how much Wenger has done for us during the tough periods bla bla bla bla....For many others that shtick has worn thin, we have money in the bank now, there's no more financial shackles on us, and yet it's still the same s**t and it's still the same mantra from the Wenger knows best brigade. And for many of us, we're sick of it.

What I don't even understand is why some of Wenger's defenders can't stick to their own words, I remember 2 seasons back when finally the money was going to start coming available to us that Wenger's supporters were saying AFTER the money is available then we can properly start judging Wenger as it was unfair to judge him from 2007-2012 as we just moved to the new stadium, funds weren't available so he did the best with what he could (BTW Wenger's fans just seem to think this argument is a fact when it's not really) but now that we have money we can properly assess him....So now that we do have money, and have had it for 2 seasons, and STILL nothing's changed in the grand scheme of things, but Wenger's defenders keep defending him and keep bringing out the same excuses and going against their own words. What this certainly proves is that for the Wenger knows best brigade, it's Wenger before club, it's all about Wenger, all about simply defending him, and this is a fact when Wenger's own defenders have to go back and ignore their own criteria, you know you're not dealing with proper fans who have the best interests of this club, it's only about the best interests of Wenger.

As another poster says, it's ARSENAL, not ARSENE.
