Excellent post Stumpy and thanks for reminding me of that interview where Monk confirmed Michu did not want to be here, I knew I had this issue correct, and you have only confirmed my view. I would love Michu to play for us again, but it will never happen as you have so comprehensively pointed out. It seems that one or two, or maybe just one sad individual cannot move on, and cannot wait for Monk to fail, this same individual pops up on every thread with his bitter vindictive attacks on Monk, everything is Monks fault from Laudrop going, to Michu not playing, from the Spanish rebels being kicked out, yet Monk at the time was simply a player recovering from an injury, It was our board that took most of these decisions, which simply had to be made, we could not have the rot continuing, with splits in the dressing room, the trouble makers were sent packing, and I have no problem with that, and Neither did Rangel, or Amat, who have been exemplary throughout all this. Fernandez and Gomis cost a lot of wages , never mind the 7 million cost to bring Fernandez here in the first place , not really impressed with neither as minutes come theyre way . Gomis was running around when he came on yesterday without a thought what he was doing . Fernandez didn't have a good game, but where was our captain Ashley Williams? Why didn't he keep the backline organised and tight? as for Gomis well I must admit he hasn't impressed me yet, Emnes looks more capable to me..............
Taylor wasnt marking the goalscorer, he was left holding the bag when the CB's went missing .Taylor might be responsible for the left post but not the right post and unless im mistaken , the guy headef it straight inside the right post .. could be wrong

Michu had his nose pout out of joint as he was no longer the No1 striker and he did not like it. As it turned out napoli are paying his wages for this season and he has been a dud for them so it looks like they will send him back when his contract is over, In the meantime they are stuck with him and his wages....
to me Michu was always an AM. Last season he just didn't seem interested even after his injury. Really surprised he wasn't sold. If as Dai mentioned above Napoli are paying his wages all good. Michu or Gomis, jury out on that one, probably Michu if his attitude improved

For the second half of Laudrup's first season, Michu was the Number 1 striker. Graham left in January and Michu picked up the mantle up front. He scored 11 of his 22 goals from this position that season.
