Good point. We can all write something on a forum in a moment of anger though. I'm sure the OP will semi-retract what he's said at a later time.

The current trend is for people wanting anything offensive to be banished.

Well sorry people, that might be your Utopian dream but it's not realistic.

There's always someone who finds something offensive but that's just life and you have to get on with it.

Being offended isn't fatal ffs ......

Back to the OP, I like the off-topic thread too <ok>

I also think the forum defines itself.

Bloody hell mate I know you are a long term poster on here. <ok>
But if it wasn't for the off topic ****e, I wouldn't even be here often. (Which a lot on here would think would be a good thing. <rofl> )
The football threads get way too boring, a lot of them are exactly the same as the previous thread with a slightly different slant. And people repeat the same point they made in any previous thread ad-infinitum just in case we hadn't read it in the other threads. :)
The off topics give me much more of an insight into my fellow posters.
There is a hell of a lot of blokes on here I would love to have a pint with, basing my opinion on their OT chat.

If you don't like OT threads don't read them.
Just like I have said before to other people, don't read a thread just to have a moan about it.
If I start reading a thread and find it boring or offensive, I close it and move on. It would never cross my mind to moan about it..

I find this boards freedom a plus point, when I open NOT606 I know I'm going to be entertained.
    Which is what I want.
I hated the old BBC606 with a passion, with the stasi running it, and the numerous threads about exactly the same thing.

    How hard can that be?

There are certain threads, and posters, I avoid simply because I know exactly what the thread will be like.

The people who are interesting are unpredictable and have a wide range of interests, sometimes away from SAFC <ok>

Ultimately, I agree with Billy. All you're ever looking for, sunders, is to score points off somebody, never realising that most adults gave up the idea of 'scoring points' when they left junior school. Take your self-satisfied, sarcastic sh*t back to Hieronymad.com or whatever Syd's latest sad pipedream is for now, where you'll find lots of similar 'concerned' souls, all secretly dying to score points off each other. I wish you and him the very best of luck.

For the record, Syd put a hell of a lot of time and effort getting this forum going before setting up his own...The best thing about the site that he is running now is that the petty back stabbing personal insults that you get on here just doesn't happen...

Syd's site does not deserve that kind of comment. Since you only joined this site in August and your posts indicate that you are person of mature years how close am I in suspecting that you could be a disillusioned member from that site?

When I've looked there isn't the back stabbing because there isn't even the tumble weed.

I don't know what was said for you to have this view, but I can only go on my own experience...Me and Syd are totally at odds when it comes to our political views and have had one or two tasty exchanges, mainly on Facebook, but sometimes on Sundermad as well, but not once have they ended up with personal insults being thrown at each other.
I have also posted on Sundermad from the beginning and can't recall any threads were they have ended up with personal insults being thrown..

It would have been very simple for him to leave his thoughts on the McCann thread instead of starting a new one just to whine like a bitch about it.
