That 48 questions thing I'm sure was one interrogation when their lawyer told them not to answer anything because he felt the police were trying to frame them at that time. They've answered plenty of questions since then.

As for the negligence, I agree what they did was terrible, but if they are innocent, then they are suffering enough at the minute without the vitriol that gets poured by these internet trolls.

You clearly have the ability to see the good in the worst kind of people.

There's no doubt in my mind that Gerry has disposed of MM's dead body, the evidence just keeps getting swept under the carpet for him. His bag, the dna in the boot, the sniffer dogs, the ****ing E-fit that looked like Gerry! She refused to answer questions for fear that she'd be framed, no mother would have that fear at the forefront of their mind when their child has just gone missing, she refused to answer those questions because she knew exactly what had happened in my opinion.

They have escaped scott-free from this and are now living off proceeds and publicity money. These people aren't trolls, they're just demanding that a guilty-looking couple at least get interrogated.

They were official suspects at one time though, were they not? This evidence is often cited but if it was AS conclusive as people seem to make out all the time, the
Portuguese police would have taken it further.
As for these trolls "just demanding that a guilty-looking couple at least get interrogated", have you read any of the comments? How anyone could pour out such vile stuff towards people who have been found guilty of nothing is beyond me.

I don't condone what people are saying to them but without a shadow of a doubt, this is nowhere near as cut and dry as the stupid tabloids have made this seem. If you're prepared to believe what's been written is the whole truth and nothing but the truth then fine, but the point of this thread is what got me interested in the first place, these guys have friends in high places in my opinion.

My background is in intel mate, I'm not saying it makes me any more qualified than you to pass judgement here but I do know exactly how the media are fed in this country.

I put no value on what the media prints whatsoever mate, I'm not so naive. It's just that everyone seems to take a side in this that either she was spirited away by some sneaky creep in the night or the parents killed her and orchestrated a huge cover up. People forget that there may be other options and it's perfectly fine to say "I don't know". If one day the parents are arrested and proved to be guilty I will be the first calling them, until then however I think some people just have a little bit of a lack of respect for 2 people who MAY be going through the absolute worst hell imaginable...I've also seen that documentary that someone posted above and for others who might watch that just a word of caution: I've seen a very similarly made documentary that would have you absolute 100% believ ing without a shadow of a doubt that 9/11 was an inside job and no plane ever even crashed into the Pentagon...

The best thing about having my stance mate, is that even if they were proven not-guilty then I'd still be right, it's their ****ing fault for being such awful parents in the first place. If they're going through hell I don't care, they put themselves in that position and there's families up and down this country going through hell, couples who can't have kids who would literally give anything for the opportunity to have their own child, or parents who are waiting for a life saving donor to come along and save their child, they're the ones I feel sorry for.

Fair enough, for me until they're proven guilty I will keep an open mind. One thing I won't question is that this is their fault, what runs through the mind of a parent leaving 3 children under the age of 4 alone at any time, it's just staggering.

I've asked quite a few mothers this question and always received the same answer,

"If you believed someone had entered your apartment, and taken one child, would you then leave, knowing the intruders could still be there, and put the other children in peril. Or would your instinct be to grab them?"

Regarding your point, I agree.
She knew the door had been left open and that the child could've easily wandered outside.
Why say, "They've taken her."

I've also asked a few mothers what they'd do with the soft toy the child slept with.
Would they treasure it, smell it and hope Maddie would hold it again ......... or put it through a boil wash and eradicate all traces of her? Bearing in mind she chose to do that while they were still 'in the holiday resort' I find it incredible.
 
Well I've just watched the last two episodes of that documentary & I have to say I'm stunned.
What sway or hold do these two ****s have on the establishment?

it stunned me too mate - some the **** involved with this sad case goes high into upper echelons - I don't reckon anyone will ever know the full story

I reckon they sedated the girl & that arsehole Gerry found her dead & disposed of her body & then concocted a story of abduction.
Not accusing the pair of twats before they think of suing as they are prone to do.

Anyone labelled as a child killer or *****phile gets the exact same treatment regardless of innocence. I met a girl in a nightclub when I was 20, took her back to my lace and did what lads and lasses did, found out 4 days later she was only 15 - when the CID knocked on the door to arrest me - I got so much stick from locals which found out about it. Her step-dad threatened to kill me in front of a copper and has subsequently done the same over and over. It took me years to move on from that and all I was guilty of was not asking a girl I met in an over 18's nightclub how old she was.

Others get labelled and have mud thrown from all angles - human nature. My argument - if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck. They look guilty, they refuse to answer perfectly good questions (who, if not harbouring some , does that) and they somehow have a massive £10m fund to find their daughter who went missing years ago and, as was mentioned by Billy in the OP, would've been given up on by now if it was my daughter missing.
