I just saw the wife and kids onto a bus at lunchtime.

She said "how much to Braehead"?

The polish driver said "£3.10."

Then he said "£2.90" for a return.

My wife said "Sorry?" as if the guy wasn't speaking English.

He said "£2.90" for a return.

She said "I only want a single" and paid £3.10.

She's either very racist or very stupid. I don't know which.

My dear ol grampa used to shout at us when we were wee kids for drinking straight out of bottles and tins.

He used to say 'Get a glass, the Japs spit all over those.'

My gran who grew up in Dee Street in a unionist area of East Belfast said about when they were wee kids they used to head down to nationalist Short Strand and "stone the fenians"

My Gran used to hate the French - went to church every day till she died, used to go and visit people eevn older tahn her with tehir shopping etc yet would tell you to "turn that foeign muck off" if ever Manhattan Transfer came on the radio.

My other gran was the same, old she hated nationalists. It all stemmed from her da getting a bad kicking from 3 of them when she was a teenager. Lived till her mid 80s, went to church all the time and was the nicest wee lady. But get Gerry or someone on the TV and the insults would fly out of her mouth.

As a youngster me and brothers were always in stitches.
