So who do we want as Manager now?

It seems like now most posters want what I have wanted the last 6 months at least - a new Manager. But who do we want? I want a winner, and someone to get a playing system in place, trained in so all the players know their role and that of each other - basic really, but we don't seem to have it, we play like strangers. Only when we have one well drilled in properly so we are playing as a team, then maybe it would be time to learn a back up system but not untill then. We also need a Manager that generates enthusiasm among the players, gets them fit (a few still don't look fit now start of October to me), and with determination to win.

Without knowing all the potentially good Managers looking for offers around the globe, I'd go for Pulis myself, as he's shown over years at Stoke and Palace that he is a winner and organizer, and Palace played some decent football to escape last season, though how we win is of secondary importance this season.

If anyone who is more clever than me with this could set up 2 polls, one to see how many % want Arry out today, and another, who do we want to replace him with, it will be interesting to see the results.

I like Harry and do not like to see anybody lose their job, I also feel that there is a lack of real football men at board level which includes TF and PB, so maybe if and when we consider changing the manager and scouting staff we should appoint somebody like the great Alex Stock to just use their vast experience to advise people at board level.

I think it has to be Pulis. He would bring solidarity, organisation, determination,honesty and a set system to our club. He is a motivator and a disciplinarian by all accounts, which is exactly what we need. Our players need a serious kick up the jacksey.

Alec Stock is dead. Presumably you mean someone who has retired, but recently enough to understand how the football world works at the moment. What about Alex Ferguson? Or Robbie Savage? I know, Peter Risdale..... Steady now, form a queue.......you would hope that they could trust the judgement of the man they are paying £3m a year to run the team for them.

Sorry Dens, but I am convinced that 'football men' are the root of the problem. The great advantage Ecclestone and Briatore had was they were just as crooked as the 'football people' they were dealing with.

Ah god be with the days mate when me and you soldiered together on flyers ignore list. I miss them........not.
Seriously though, our players play with no passion, no pride, no real commitment. It stands out a mile. I seriously disliked Gary Toad Neville as a player but he's a good pundit IMO. I'm sick of it. There's no honesty of effort and I do believe a manager is responsible for installing many of the virtues into a team that we are sadly missing.
The match immediately after Harry is sacked, I'll be drinking pints with you in the C&S. That's a promise.

Well thankfully we didn't listen to you then or we'd be still in the Championship.

Moyes would be a decent enough choice. I'm not sure Pulis would be the correct fit given the egos (Barton, Ferdinand etc) we have in the dressing room. Managers like him seem to do their best work with "nothing" players they can bollock to high heavens.

Malky Mackay's still out of work but he's a racist now

Ordinarily I would have said someone like Eddie Howes, Uwe Rosler, Karl Robinson, someone who has done well in the lower divisions and should be given the chance in the top flight, right age profile, good footballing philosophy............but I believe that there could be too many egos in the dressing room and they could have a problem instilling authority........

Have to say I'm not convinced by Pulis but at least he would have a bit of fight and authority about him, but in truth there aren't many managers out there to choose from and in any case who really wants to take over such a shambles?

Bench the egos. Hill and Dunne give their all whoever the manager is. If Barton or Ferdinand were Ronaldo or Messi, I may take a different line. 100% commitment to what the manager wants is the only way. Brendan Rodgers stopped playing before he was 20. Didn't seem to stop him getting Suarez and Gerrard onside.
