I agree there was a few of us today got something going in the lower West, and others did start to join in.
Did anyone hear the knob head on Blunderside, saying how good City were today, but then having a swipe at Allam....This bullshit has got to stop...Its embarrassing.
As we were standing in the queues to go in through the West Stand turnstiles some tosser was walking past chanting "West Stand give us a song". Last week I heard a couple of others at it as we were coming out of the ground. Is this what it's coming to? A pretty sad state of affairs. Not everyone in the West sings but they've paid their money and are entitled to support their team in the way that they choose without being called to task for it from their so called "fellow" supporters!
Booing a stand like that for not joining in has always happened. Used to be east to south. In the north its just changed to asking the west for a song.
Summer of 69 Totally agree mate...I don't have an agenda against the CTWD mob, but some of them have not got a dozen brain cells between them...They'll be the first to do a bunk if it goes tits-up..
I heard the booing against the west stand and I was sat in there today. Name me one club that has all 4 sides of the ground singing?
No. The people "first to do a bunk if it goes tits-up" will be the w**kers who started going to the KC after we got promoted. We only got crowds of around 18,000 in the Championship, and now we consistently get over 20,000. I don't have a problem at all with younger fans who are only just getting interested football and have started to support their local team, but there are some people who only give a **** about Hull City when we're in the Premier League; it happened last time we got promoted.
I've suggested this before and I'm not sure how to get it started but I think it would be good if the "We're the North Stand, we're the East Stand" chant could be extended to include the South and West to get it going around the whole ground. I might be wrong but I think if the North didn't start again immediately after the East has finished, it would only take a few to start it in the South and then a few in the West to follow on and I'm sure it would catch on. At the moment both North and East respond as soon as the other has finished and don't leave any opportunity for the South or West to join in.
Good for you, but it doesn't alter the fact that some people only watch games when we're in the Prem, and they'd f** off sharpish if we got relegated. It happened last time we got relegated. There are s**tloads of people in Hull who support a 'second team', and I've known quite a few. One of my mates was/is a self-proclaimed Man Utd fan, and he got a season pass for City when we got promoted back in 2008. He didn't renew it come 2011, but he's started going again since we got promoted. Your assumption that people from CTWD will stop going when it goes tits-up is absurd considering the fact a lot of them have had season passes for years.
I don't disagree with your point and yes a lot of those probably do sit in the West Stand but there are also a lot who have been going through decades of us being anywhere from occasionally pretty good to about as bad as could be, so people shouldn't brand others just because of where they choose to sit to watch their team play!
Err, I haven't. I sometimes joke about the lack of noise from the West Stand, but I don't disregard them as fans at all. I dislike the booing of your own fans for singing the club's name, but I definitely don't have a problem with the West Stand or any other part of the stadium for that matter. I was responding to a post that said most of the people in CTWD would stop going to games if everything went to ****, and that isn't the case at all.
It started today in the South stand with a few hundred but got drowned quickly when the north stand responded to the east
Fair enough but I didn't say you had either. I said "people" and only quoted your post because you seemed to be responding against those who were remarking that the anti West Stand thing is getting a bit out of hand. Having read back through the thread I can see that you weren't, so I apologise.
I'm sick of hearing 'Just because I only got to see Stevie G/when we're in the prem/boo my team's name/leave early (delete as appropriate) doesn't mean I'm any less of a fan. Yes it really ****ing does. What do you people think being a fan is of its not about staying to the end and supporting the team?
I'm sure it would soon catch on if it was just given a chance. I can't believe the vast majority of supporters wouldn't join in, as they do with the Stand introduction thing before the game.
I always leave my seat on 89 mins then stand watching at the entrance then leave as soon as the final whistle blows Been doing that for 40 years is that ok ?????
